lets play the guessing game! statement...how many hits did you have off Larsen in the championship game last year? im not here to run my mouth or anything because i was a senior to get beat last year in the champ game by Farragut but honestly...why run your mouth about a team that is as good or better than your alma mater this year? Honestly i think Halls and Farragut are about even...yeah sure Farragut came out on top the other night but obviously something was up when it was 8-0 that early. why run your mouth about how a team plays or how they win? if their winning let them do what they have to do..

another thing...just kill the topic on how they play and what they do to celebrate or get in the game. i mean does it really matter what they do? im not here to justify for my old team but good gosh almighty...a team is a team and if they like to kiss each other on the cheek to be totally stupid or yell and clap and what not and chant like they're "a girls softball team" then so be it. someone said they would throw at their heads...if you're that disturbed by it and it pisses you off that bad then maybe you shouldnt be playing high school baseball. its about this age where you grow up as a man if you dont like how the other team is then block them out pitch your game. i mean if they're saying stuff about you and towards you then i say go for it...nail them in the ear hole, but im sure they arent cause Polston dont allow it. this is all stupid...if the people posting knew what fun in winning was and each team has fun in different ways then this would be alright.

OPEN YOUR MINDS ALITTLE BIT...DONT BE SO NARROW MINDED...PEOPLE DO THINGS DIFFERENT. that doesnt mean you have to bash them or make fun of them.

play your game boys and play it how you would like!

How is Halls as good as or better than Farragut?? That is quite possibly the worst logic I've ever seen. Farragut was beating Halls 8-4 earlier this year before a steady rain saved Halls from a likely defeat and Farragut just beat Halls 12-9 the other night. So how is Halls just as good as or better? How? If I am very generous, I coudl give you that Halls is almost as good as Farragut is. That is being too generous though. If Halls does their job, they'll get another chance at Farragut, just don't be surprised when that makes Halls 0-3 on the year(and 0-5 hte last 2 years) at cracking Farragut. And i'm not sure how many hits Statement had, but I believe it was 2. I'm not sure though, i'm trying to remember and its hard. He also played pretty amazing defensively that game and I remember it saving us a few times from giving up a few runs. Oh and we won by 2. So that didn't work out too well for you. How many hits did you have off Kyle? It is Bush League to cheer. I don't really care that much. But it IS Bush league. So just accept its Bush league and if you still don't mind Halls doing it, well, maybe you like Bush league things.

The picther has every right to throw inside to get a batter off the plate but if he or she doe's so and the batter does not make an attemp not to get hit it should be called a ball. If the pitch goes to the head and not the waist the picther and the coach should be ejected!

Listen, I think Halls needs to not worry about who calls them girls, cause if they aren't careful D.B. will make them look like girls. All i know is that it will be a great game tomorrow, and that Farragut is getting an easy way out. So lets focus on who is going to get the ring this year, but speaking of rings, our tennis team is about to have 3 in a row, my fingers are going to be loaded up with state rings, man thats a nice feeling to have.

This is stupid. statement cant make his comments. he has to get someone else to do it for him? i mean its not getting personal here but good gosh? by bash a team for something they do. if you want it to get personal...lets talk about bush league. meeting at homeplate and smacking helmets and what not is bush league. Major league players dont do it so it is bush league. thats basically what you are saying. they are in high school. just because Coach Pharr doesnt allow it doesnt mean that its wrong. open your mind a little bit and realize that every person, team, etc. are different and if Halls, Webb, Seymour, or whoever in whatever class or division want to do something then let it go. if you dont like it then beat them. that wont shut em up im sure, but then you can say "with your annoying bush league chatter we still beat you" but people getting on here that dont even play bashing a HIGH SCHOOL baseball team for doing what they want to have fun and they are winning....THEN WHO CARES?

and back to to your "how many hits did you have off Kyle?" how many hits did anyone all season have off Kyle? i mean honestly that wasnt even fair! lol

I am not bashing Halls for chanting, but no one really does that beyond little league other than softball players...so do not be surprised when other teams make fun of you for cheerleading because they always will.

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.

    • A complete cultural change happened at Greeneville and the administration and community opened up their checkbooks.  What a lot of people don't know is Ballard was Zeller's OC for many years and stopped coaching for two years because Zeller and Ballard didn't see eye to eye on some things.  Zeller lead Greeneville to it's first ever Semi Final appearance in 2000 and lost 28-12 at Maryville and had them in the Quarter Finals in 2002 and 2003.  Z was a great coach but lost some control when it came to making workouts mandatory. (He learned from that Mistake and it was at LC when i coached with him.).  Z was let go going into my Senior Year and was replaced by Steve McCurry who was the one that turned the program around.  Steve had won a 4a state championship at AC Reynolds in Asheville and made the administration completely redo the weight room with new equipment, had a football period at the end of the school day to lift, started devil camp, and brought in coaches like Danny Bentley (Still the OL coach), Ballard as the OC, Cody Baugh (QB coach and still there), and even Spradlen who is Greeneville's head coach now as the DB's Coach.  McCurry only coached for two seasons at Greeneville and took a team that had a losing record the year before and finished my Senior Year making it to the Quarters and having a 10-3 record and then followed it up with a Semi Final appearance the next year with an 11-3 record and back to back conference championships.  Loved McCurry to death but the recession hit and the story i heard was he was still buying new equipment for the team that the Principal didn't authorize and his response was "I don't answer to you and only to Niswonger and Bewley" (Two huge donors).  That was it for him and they Promoted Ballard shortly after that.   Greeneville had always been relevant ever since the the late 70's under Coach Fred Sorrell's.  Since Sorrell's took over in 1977 Greeneville overall winning percentage is over 76%.  The biggest reason people might not have thought Greeneville was "Good" until Ballard was Greeneville always played up Classification wise and could never get over the hump. (When there were 3 classifications we played 3a, when it went to 5 we played 4a).  Greeneville is the largest its ever been with 953 students and where playing teams 2 or 3 times there size back in the day (I had a little over 800 kids in the school when i graduated in 2008).  Other teams always would know they would be sore after a game but depth took over and never won a Championship until Greeneville played in the classification the TSSAA actually assigned them. You had names like Dustin Moore (1993 Mr Football for 3a and who Phillip Fulmer said was one of the greatest athletes he ever recruited), James "Mud Turtle" Mayes, Brigham Lyons, Byron Gillespie, Frankie Debusk (National Champion Qb at Furman with GQ), Jasmine Lowery, Cody Baugh, The Greenway Brothers, Joe Watson (Furman), etc.  Now the cultural is from the Pee Wee league up and you grow up as a young kid wanting to wear the Greene and White.  Here is a really good link when it comes to anything Greeneville Football related. https://greenevillefootball.com/   I also don't coach anymore.  Z told me i was to smart with how the school systems are ran these days and ended up going into real estate in Knoxville which has been a great decision for my life.
    • Yes, they will. I'm wondering what kinds of strides Sale Creek will make heading into the second season under Coach Fitz.
