MVP Numbers? My pick for best player in the state

I had the privilege of being able to see him play 3 years in the Warrior Spring Classic, and made some outstanding plays each year.

 

These sound like state tournament MVP numbers:

 

vs Tullahoma

2 for 3, 3 runs, inside-the-park HR, Triple, 2 RBI, HBP

 

vs Farragut

1 for 4, 1 run, 2 RBI, HBP

 

vs Farragut

3 for 5, 2 runs, 1 RBI

 

vs Overton

2 for 2, 2 runs, BB, HBP

 

8 runs scored, 8 for 14 for .571 avg, 5 RBI, .667 OBP, .929 Slugging PCT

to pick one player from Houston is tough , i agree with you David that Miller kid was the best one in the state tournament

Rob Catapano (Farragut) had a pretty good run at state:

Pitching> 1 win, 7 innings, 2 hits, 1 er, 12 Strikeouts

Hitting> Hit safely in all 4 games, 5/11, 2 dbls, 6 rbi's, 455 ba, 636 slg%

The Miller kid is a special player and a fine young man. Ole Miss signed a classy, young man who will well-represent their school and program both in the classroom and on the field.

 

This is a fun and interesting topic to discuss, and in some cases, a difficult choice. Miller is their glue and would be a very well-accepted choice. However, what about Lea and his two performances? If the opposing team ain't hitting, you got to look at the individual on the mound. He may not have been their MVP throughout the year, but he just have been for the State Tournament.
