...Below is a summary of the scrimmage from my point-of view...if LA played great...(well I'll let the readers decide)

...For the first 30 minutes of this game, it looked as if LA was going to control the line of scrimmage( LA's O-line is "big")...with the game tied 1-1 the "RAMS" started to get some separation by mixing up the plays and giving LA a dose of some of the best "skill" position players in Chattanooga...#5(Tyner) scored on a 70 yard TD run and and on the very next series #81(Tyner) caught a pass out-in-the-flat and ran 70 yards for another TD...LA seems to be using a 3 QB system...#6, #5 & #3(LA) all were capable of moving the team, however the RAM "D" would rise to the occasion each time...LA's offense wasn't very creative( probably didn't want to show too much)...LA ran from the I-formation with the slot and WR on either the left or the right side.

...The next RAM series saw Tyner nickel & dime it's way to LA's 50 yd line, when #5(Tyner) out ran LA's defense>>>>RAMS-4, LA-1...At this point in the game it looked as if LA could not solve the short passes...the teams lined up in the opposite direction and #20(Tyner) caught a perfect pass, however, the referee said he went out-of-bounds...a couple of plays later with the 2nd string QB calling the plays (and in the shot-gun formation), #2(Tyner) caught a 40 yard ball on the right side of the end-zone...Final Score: RAMS-5, LA-1

...Ram Defense was very impressive and showed that even this early that they are in pretty good shape...on LA's last possession the ball was inside Tyner's 10-yard line and LA's QB was sacked for a 10-yard loss!!!

...The last thread posted on this topic was on May 8th and I think someone said that LA had some playing baseball!!

Not true. Cookeville played Lebanon and McGavock last year. Both teams were FULL of speed. Cookeville is the smashmouth, knock you on your butt and don't help you up, team in middle TN. We CREAMED McGavock and beat Lebanon in the playoffs. Explain that one. We also went 11-2 on the season and the playoffs, playing most teams, if not all, that had more speed than we did.

Kind of similar to LA.

I am not predicting a winner of any games but I can say the big difference between AE and Fulton vs some of the other teams, not just their speed but the pace of the game is tremendous. Both teams have good fan following. Both teams are used to playing in big games. Niether team is one dimensional. Both teams have very discipline defenses that if you are one dimensional you will have trouble against. Both teams are very physical also. I don't know about Cookeville, McGavoc and those teams but that will be the test for LA. Can they play at the championship pace.

yes that is true some wat....LA's 1st team played the first 30mins then they let the 2nd team have a shot at it and thats when Tyner scored and they didnt get a first down the whole game they scored all of ther TDS on one big play LA scored when u had to get first down! Tyner just scored when u had 10plays(and most big play teams score atleast once in 10plays) so in my opion LA would have won if it would have been like a game b\c they was gettin first down and tyner was doin good to get 8 yards!

Saying that AE is not one dimensional last year is IMO wrong. Had they been able to throw the ball they would have played for a state championship. The games that I saw had them leaning a little to hard on Harris. He also peaked his junior year. Their QB struggled most times at hitting open targets.

Also to say that Anderson Co. and Knoxville Catholic are not comparable to LA is not knowing Tennessee Football. In 2003 any of the top three in region 2-3A could have taken the honors of State Championship. I don't know that I've seen any of those powerhouse teams even contending for Championships. I have seen Middle Tennessee Football. When you start winning state championships is when people listen. I don't think that Anderson Co. was very strong last year, but they have been every other year. Knoxville Catholic is a formittable team, and has made great strides in football lately. I don't think they or LA know what is about to hit them. Good luck to LA.

same wit LA..........it wasnt that our QB couldnt get it done its that our coach wouldnt give him the chance we relied to much on our back field and u cant do that and get past the 3rd round!

LA is just going to have to step up their level of play.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
