I like Mikey and DEI made him who he is today, but his time is running out and its time for DEI to look at some younger guys!

I think if Sr was still alive Micheal would not have been getting Jr's leftover equipment the last couple of years and they would be on a level playing field.

It was Dale Sr.'s decision after the 2000 NASCAR season to put Michael Waltrip in the NAPA chevy and he did not disappoint as he won the first race he had in that ride (ironically it was the day that big E died). Waltrip has had success in that car and his career had done nothing but rise during the time that he has driven for DEI, however he has not performed as well as he needs to for a guy who has won 2 Daytona 500's. Outside of those two 500 wins he won a Pepsi 400 and a fall race at Talladega. THAT IS IT!!! Martin Truex Jr. will be in the #1 car next season for DEI and I'm sure expectations are gonna be high for him to perform well right away. With him coming up and Little E seemingly turning the corner after a horrible start to this season DEI needs a guy who can perform and win in that #15 car. I'm sorry if this hurts peoples feelings BUT Waltrip's four wins in five years just isn't the kind of consistency that DEI needs to be on the same level as Hendrick Motorsports and Rousch Racing.

Leftovers? This is a multi-billion dollar corporation, there is no one getting leftovers! All three DEI teams are provided the best equipment money can buy! That was a hilarious statement though, thanks for the laugh! thumb

I agree totally, gotmilk! Anyone who thinks that Jr. is the only one with winning equipment, obviously doesn't watch the sport very often! For all of their information, all of the cars that Michael is running this year were built by Tony Sr. and Tony Jr. TO BE DRIVEN BY DALE JR before they made the crew switch. The same goes for Jr.'s cars now. They just pulled them back in the paint booth and shot a new coat of the correct color paint on them.

Look it up folks!

Read that again! It says they were to be driven by Jr. before the switch! See that means they were built new but not driven by Jr.! Got It? thumb

Even if it were Jr's car from last season, what is wrong with that? Jr. only led the standing most of last season! I believe it is the driver, not the car! thumb

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
