Hush little Kitties, don't say a word.

You just got whipped by the big NIGHT BIRD.

This year G-town was supposed to be mean.

You should've known not to throw toward #17.

Best of luck to the Tigers is all I have to say.

As long as you lose the first one, I hope you go all the way.

177 Yards & 3 Scores.....Not bad for a DE/LB/WR/FB that's never lined up in the backfield on a Friday Night!!  #25 looked GOOD as well!!

How About them OWLS!!!

7 in a ROW!!!

What do you think now....RattleTrap33.

jobran, Jimmy Cash, grasshopper, and fsurules all were escorted back to the real world by the Smith County Owls and may never be heard from again. Welcome back ya'll. What a whooping that was. Smith County could have just played defense for 48 minutes and beaten Gordansville. It was pitiful really. Where was all that "all-state" talent in blue?

Maybe next year, but I don't see GHS winning a game for years to come.

Cascade, Jackson Co., Moore Co., and DeKalb Co. must not have been very good tune ups for the tiggers.

Look on the bright side, Red Boiling is coming up.

Well hey imallin, here I am...all i can say is that Carthage played good, and G-ville didn't. We were in the same boat last night as ya'll were at Catholic last week...young team with a new QB starting seeing first real high school action. Too bad we couldn't have played week 0 and let him get some experience under his belt.

It was a good game to watch...until the 3rd quarter. I thought I was going to be sick. But hey, G-ville will get better...they have to. Carthage will do well in 4-2A. But good luck to both teams.

Man was I glad to see Chad last night. Just think if he had been on that field..........

It was great to see Chad. I wish the best for him and his fine family.

gh...it wouldn't matter if it was the 1st game or last game. SC is the better team. It is not close. Gordansville didn't do anything in any phase of the game better than SC. SC is bigger...faster...and stronger...and especially deeper. As I said before...good luck...hope you win the rest of them.

Also...your PA guy announcing us as the Carthage Owls was classless...but totally expected. I think I'll get ours to announce you as the GordAnsville Blue Kitties next year. :P

Same boat?? You mean you were just out classed on the field... thats what happened to the Owls last week and the Tigers Last night. G-ville rolled over.... That game was a beating. Someone let the coaches at G-ville know that a play book is more than 4 plays! Worst play calling I have ever seen! QB has potential but isn't going anywhere if that line doesn't get some heart!

I agree...coaching could have been better. Too bad our o-line didn't show up...could have been a different ball game, but it doesn't matter now. What's done is done. Til next year I guess! :) I'm already getting excited...2 more years of Justin Smith. :o

One thing though...I don't think we were out classed on the field. There's a difference in being out played and out classed. Both teams showed class, ya'll out played and out manned us.

And the PA guy...plenty of us would not be sad if he had got the boot long ago.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
