My daughter is goalie for sycamore and it concerns me greatly how little protection goalies get from refereees when it comes to over enthusuastic players "attacking" the goalie!!!!!!!!!

Kate was going up for the ball. Her body was stretched out, fully exposed when she was hit. Goalies should always pull a knee up when they go up for a ball so that they are protected as much as possible. If the "attacking" player comes into the goalie too hard, they will impact the goalies knee. It has to become "automatic". I agree that there has to be absolute and consistant consequences for a player who is overly aggressive from referees.

This is a sad situation that never should have happened. Injuries are inevitable in soccer but this kind of blunt injury is something that no child should ever have to experience.

Kate's should be out of surgery after midnight. Please keep Kate in your prayers as she begins a long recovery.

Kate got out of surgery around 12:30 AM today.  The surgery was a success.  She is back in her room.  She was alert this moring and talking.  Please continue to pray for a speedy recovery.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
