this is a huge game and i am very eager to see how this one turns out. winner will more than likely finish 3rd in the district behind union city and mckenzie. west carroll is solid as usual but its hard for me to get a read on lake county. they have so much hype around them put i think that could be just because they are constantly "blowin their own horn" so to speak. like last year, all you heard goin into the playoffs was that lake county was on a roll and was gonna make a state title run, of course all this talk was coming out of lake county. double digit loss to fayette in the first round of playoffs and they start talkin about how good they're gonna be this year. so far they have played 1 real team (union city) and got smoked. wouldn't be surprised at all if west carroll wins this one and proves that lake county is all talk once again.

I won't have one because this game is going to be fair and that was a rude comment , do you not feel passionate about your team you did have or have in high school ,however, I will admit I did act very somphoric about our last loss and this time I have decided to not get on here and talk a bunch of smack and I am sorry about my last post incase it offended someone also the lhchs cheereaders all want to apologize

I haven't seen Lake Co. play yet but, we (McKenzie) played West Carroll two weeks ago and they are a solid team at 100%. If they have players injured, ????. If they are close to healthy, this should be a good close game. West Carroll is a power type team and had the tools to play against McKenzie but, they were healthy then. If skill players are hurt, who knows.

Cheerchick, I compliment you for your humble apology. I'm glad you realize the error of your ways. I know you were frustrated about the Union City loss. A lot of people in the region think Union City still belongs in AA but their overall school enrollment qualifies them for Class A. The thing about Union City is that the enrollment decrease has not affected their football numbers. The kids they've lost in the school would not have played football anyway. They have a much larger percentage of their student body involved.

Lake County needs a win on the road Friday in the worst way. Best of luck to the Falcons. I'll get my 2nd straight look at McKenzie this week & if they continue to play like they did against Dresden they may win the region.

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
