private vs public week 7

it is hard to believe the season is already this far along.

this last week saw the privates continue to extend their overall lead,

and take a commanding lead in region play.

and, at the least, this prognosticator does not expect things to get better for the publics this week. there are 17 games on tap, 13 of them region contests.

and here they are:

Copper Basin at Grace Bap

Kings Academy at Unaka

Loudon at CAK

Notre Dame at East Ridge

Temple at Whitwell

Baylor at Franklin County

Cornersville at Columbia Academy

David Lipscomb at Creek Wood

Ezell-Harding at Harpeth

Forrest at Clarksville Academy

McEwen at Nashville Christian

Red Boiling Springs at Friendship Christian

Watertown at Mt. Juliet Christian

Zion Christian at Mt. Pleasant

Middleton at SBEC

Trinity Christian at Chester County

Westview at Univ. School Jackson

i am taking the private schools 13-4.

with back to back ties, perhaps we should have a tie-breaker.

say, the combined scores of columbia academy and friendship this week?

if so, i'll take 100.

1st of all who the heck is Kings Acad. and where are they located? I know that Unaka is 1-5 and I don't know anything about King, but my motto thus far has been when in doubt take the private.

Week 7 prediction privates win 10 publics win 7

combined score of CA and FCS--99pts.

I agree with Indian take the 1st year class A privates out of the mix and the private school advantage would be bigger than 80-40.

I predict the privates win 11, the publics win 6. Combined score of CA vs. Cornersville, 68.

Indian, you've made a similar comment a couple of times now. What is your point? And what relevance does it have to this discussion? Couldn't that statement be made for any new school, public or private? In fact, I think certain public schools can get on the right track much faster than some private schools. A few that come to mind are Siegel, Ravenwood, Creekwood, etc.

Hey Laz,

If you have it could you list how the 1a privates have done vs the 2a. I suspected that many of the privates that moved up would do well...after all the "big 6" from 1a all moved up and year in year out could have beaten most 2a teams for the last 5 years. But I also thought that many of the privates that remained in 1a would get trounced. Is that how it is working out?
