Brentwood Academy comes to Shelbyville this tuesday night. Should be a good game, and should let people know a little about the golden eagles. Everyone knows about B.A. and their two college prospects but Coach Kevin Thomas has a good squad of his own. This game will be competitive and show middle tennessee that the Eagles are a contender. Good luck Shelbyville and I hope to see you pull off the upset!

Are your initials JRH...if so, that was a terrible roughing the kicker call....and the onside kick decision :D

I agree jray this should be a great matchup with 4 of the best players in the state going at it. Shelbyville has a chance being at home and need some great perfomances from not only the ones we all know about but some role players as well. I look for a close game that could go either way. Will be a great measuring stick for Shelbyville

BTW great to see ya the other nite and sorry to hear ur season ended the way it did. Hope to see ya tuesday. Wonder where the swamprat is?

RandyMc, sorry I haven't been on the computer today, but yes that is me. If you are going to this game give me a call and let me know.

 

jrm2x I haven't seen anything from the swamprat lately, according to sources he is busy as a beaver.

 

I hope the gym is packed for this matchup, the Eagles program has come along way in the past 6 years and a quality showing against Brentwood Academy would be a good way to let the rest of Tennessee know about this team. Good luck Eagles!!!!!!!

      Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.

      From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
