Best Teams in NorthEast Tenn

I personally have seen Greeneville, Mo West, Sullivan Central, Sullivan South, and Science Hill and I'm from Knoxville....this poll seems pretty close...I caught Unicoi in the substate last year and they looked pretty good, however, there is very little competition for Unicoi and South Greene this year..AA in NE TN is way down this year, and there is not a single A team that could compete with anyone this side of E-Town on this list....

I believe Cosby which is a 1A school could "compete" with anyone on this list. Notice i said compete before anyone flys all nuts on me here. Cosby did just coast to a 23 point win over Cherokee and they play with the teams on this list.

DB was in the game until the 4th quarter. They were playing a basketball factory. The Atlanta team has at least two D1 prospects. I am not sure if there is a D1 prospect in Northeast Tennessee. DB has beaten everybody they have played in Northeast Tennessee which is where this thread concerned. Until they get beat several times they should be ranked number one in Northeast Tennessee. Unicoi has a fine team as well, but they are not as good as DB.

Your right about the power houses. I can see this as the death of the Arbys Classic if this continues. You have to have local teams involved to bring in the fans. But the fans don't want to see their teams get blown out by private schools that can recruit players from anywhere in the country. It is not fair competition. They either need to tone it down, or just invite all private schools. I love watching some of the best teams in the nation, but I hate to see a local team get embarassed by 60 point blow outs.

IN NE TN Dobyns-Bennett, and Science Hill are the top 2 teams. Just because they lost in the Arby's don't mean nothing in NE TN. Nobody in NE TN will when the Arby's as long as they keep inviting all these power houses. As for NE TN Dobyns-Bennett is the front runner. Sensabaugh is a special player.

For your info. Science Hill won the first game they played in the Arby's. They beat Roanoke Catholic (VA) by 1. 50 to 51. Wattad hit the game winning freethrow with just ticks left. And for whoever said there is not a D1 prospect in NE TN. Omar Wattad has been offered 6 D1 scholarships already. Hes just a junior.

Yeah, I think the biggest thing college scouts are impressed with is how he can grow 2 to 3 inches everytime a new program comes out. And like you said he is just a junior so by the time he is a senior he should be 7 ft 8.
