Westview at Obion Co

Its not like OC has played Podunk HS night in and night out. Their combined opponents' record is 102-24 (76%). If you leave out defending AA champ Chester County and AAA Munford (combined record of 18-14), that record becomes 84-10(84%). I would challenge any other teams across the state to play the best teams in West Tennessee night in and night out and have a better record. The Lady Rebels have played some great teams, no questions asked. Could they have won some of those games?? Absolutely! Talent will keep games close, but it takes experience to pull them out. Once thses girls have some more game time under their belts, their luck can and will change. Will it be this year?? Who knows. But, it will happen.

 

Westview is a great team, but even great teams have bad games. Ask Union City's boys about last year. Be glad that Friday night wasn't a game in February of March.

 

As for a coaching change, that's how rumors get started. No one in Obion County is going to call for ES's head for losing to good teams with his team of mostly freshmen and sophomores. If he had a senior-heavy roster and they were "should win" games, then maybe. But that hasn't been the case (see above records of opponents).

 

Keep your heads up Lady Rebels, keep working hard and improving, and turn some heads in the second half of the season. Get well soon, Gentry.

First of all it is pretty sad when you have to degrade a team. I recently saw who you were at the OC game and I am somewhat surprised that you see things that way. I don't mean to get "short" with you but you might want to be able to back up all the smack you have been talking. Why don't you go tell the girl and her parents that she should be disciplined instead of just running your mouth on a chat room. Be a man. Step up! The girl had been ball screened all night and she thought this was another one coming. She tried to step over the screen only to realize it was not a screen after it was too late. Maybe you should learn the real story before you pop off again.

 

By the way, IT is called THE PIT not the barn, which,with your manners, you must have been born in.

Ball screen???? Westview doesn't screen anybody. It takes time for the Ole Spencer coaching to get out of the system. I have no doubt that Coach Suiter doesn't teach those things.

 

I think you have me confused as well! There is nothing short about me....or skinny. Feel free to private message me anytime you want to. I will be glad to respond to your thoughts. I, unlike some am able to watch a game without my "Westview" goggles on, and no when something is wrong. There seems to be a problem with some peoples "Rebel" goggles...

It is enough to make someone sick! Westview is playing so terrible right now.

 

Obion Co will get what they have coming real soon. They are a dirty ball club that WILL get a beating the next time these two teams meet. That was a blatant trip at half court, and everyone that was there saw it. Marcus Vick just got told "We don't need" you for a play very similar to this. Roney hammers people with her elbows every time down the floor, and even takes some swings. This will catch up with them in the long run! I truly hope they don't win another game in that "Barn". I am ashamed to say that they are a part of 13AA. What goes around comes around! Don't forget it! Obion Co...how does the bottom of that cellar feel?

I dont post on here because I believe everyone is entitled to their way of thought.

However, I have a girl that plays on the OC Lady Rebels, and I feel I need to say something to the remarks you made. First, contrary to alot of thinking by some people, basketball has become a full contact sport. The refs let alot more go on now. They are usually the reason that some games get out of control. It is, however, not all their fault. Every team has atleast one player that can just get out of control. But I dont think it is right to fault the entire team for the actions of one or two. My child has had her legs knocked out from under her, on purpose and several rounds of going to the e.r. for e-rays due to "hard play"; but like a true athelete.. you get up .. you make the fouls shots and you continue to play ball. As parents and fans you have to let the kids work it out, maybe with the help of good refs and coaches. But I do believe your remarks were childish and just plain stupid. And as far as being ashamed that we are part of the 13AA, well the same can be said about you.

Got somethings to say regarding talk bout the Lady Rebs Coach.....leave the man alone & let him coach... I have heard ever since about the second week of December, bad mouthing towards the coach & his program...1) remember Spencer, 2) whoever you get to replace him could be worse since Obion's record regarding coaches is not the best in the state, 3)since bad mouthing coaches has been done for years with how many state championships hanging around the pit, why not try lifting him and the girls up with positve feedback and support rather than tearing the man and his program down......and if all that fails, try harder to remember Spencer!!!
