it would actually be a more interesting thread if it included DI and DII either way some of the DI teams mentioned really should be top contenders in the years to come, but have the top contenders really changed all that much over the last 4-5 years.

Okay, let's watch Ryan as they are young and Baylor the next few years. MCCallie will take less talent as Frank Simpson and GC put together some fine challenges. This is why they are in the ranks of many other great coaches in TN coaching history.

 

RMC, Kenny Merideth was able to compete quite well with McCallie's big guy last year as well as Coutney Coffey, but was just a D1 wrestler.

 

Bullit, you may like the separation, but I like it the way Steve Henry goes after it. Wrestling is wrestling, no matter how much you spend to get on the mat.

I hope I don't leave some of the tough little guys out (you can check their web site too) but all their kids are tough: Zach Watson, Stuart Doster, Alex Manley, T. J. Duncan, Adam Shuford, Channing Gordon, Mac Ferguson, and Paxton Potter

Sommers....I was just trying to stay on topic! I know there are tons of great middle school wrestlers in The Great State of Tennnessee! My question about Blackmon was because I didn't remember that school name from my old days at Hixson.

 

The folks up in Pigeon Forge are going to see the one of the best middle school teams in Georgia next weekend when the kids from Pope wrestle up there.

Blackman is a finer D1 school that is about 5 years old now and about 5 minutes from my home. It has grown in this area so much that there are 6 HS's within 15-20 minutes of me and the clubs & middle schools are growing too. We are all benefitting from this growth now.

7 starting sophmores on rhea countys team is not bad for a 12-3 record

and also placing in the top 10 at ever tournament they been to
