I am with YOU! Time to Close it and start something positive.

No where in my post was a coach or coaching mentioned. I think that offering other players/parents support and the benefit of your experience is a very positive thing. I wish someone had shared their experience with us. If I had known the situation I would have removed my daughter alot sooner. Instead I blindly placed my faith in basic good and fairness of others. If you don't want to read this thread there are lots of others on CoachT.

Why don't everybody just start posting about how the teams in knoxville areas are doing and not about all the "rumors" or "money issues" or any of the problems inside the teams.... these arent for specific team issues, its meant to learn or find out how the teams are doing and how there records are....but so far...

i know of heritage, wb, & maryville being the toughest teams right now in there district what do you guys think of the predictions... with all 3 of those teams having young girls on the team?

Kids, I think the future of Blount County softball is in the freshmen class. Every school in the county has quality pitching and some really solid bats in their first year players. Jess Houser at WB, Miranda Rayburn at Heritage, Brittany Monday at Maryville along with Hill ;) ary Harmon, and last but not least is Laurel pace at Alcoa. I can't wait to see some of these district games in a few years.

I still think Alcoa will last the long haul, but there's not a team in the county, or Knox, that will run away. I do love me some tight defensive games.

well yeah some of those players have been playing varsity but not every single one that you have mentioned have stepped up like all the older sophomore junior and seniors have...the future is now...maryville and heritage i think will be the top 2 teams in the district this year with heritage having the same team as last year they should come out on top with their tight defense and their good hitting coming around..and maryville should be close behind with their very strong bats behind them... although those freshman players maybe varsity their lack of experience can cause big errors at times when they don't need to have them....as like the upper classmen have been in the same situtations before, but have kept their composure and came out strong...

Are you watching the same seniors I've seen? These are all young ladies, not pros! I don't think I ever downed any players...you asked an opinion and I gave it.

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
