Eligiblilty question

It is the last day of practice, so if a freshman plays the regular season, then works out with the team during the time allowed during the spring he would not be eligible until he sat out one entire year. Now if he had quit after the season and did no additional practices it would go back to the last game played.

There is no eligibility for playing JV, ineligible players because of transfer can play JV. Eligibility only effects varsity and freshman teams.

The decision when they can play is not up to the coaches, superintendent or any other school official. If you are a member of TSSAA, once you have practiced with a team for three days, you cannot play for another school for 12 months unless you physically change address, whether you ever play a game or not. Now that does not mean it does not happen, we all know it does all the time, BUT not with the approval of TSSAA. Just remember anything that TSSAA ever tells you, be sure to get it in writing.

I was waiting for the three practice thing. Not meaning people know that particular detail. Good post, you are very accurate with your explanation.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
