Hillcest is playing great right now. We played them twice during the season and scored 100 points both times. In the district tournament we only beat them by 12. In the regional tournament. they beat a 1 seed (Carver) a 2 seed (Oakhaven) and played us very well losing 75-71. SG Chris Powell returned in late Jan. and has made a big difference. He can light it up. If he is on Haywood better watch out.

Galilee,

You if anyone should know what the Tomcats are capable of this time of year. You are talking about a program that has been to state the past three years and substate the year before that. We have proven to be winners and still get no respect. The Tomcats take no opponent lightly. We hope to take care of business tonight and go back to the Boro for the fourth straight year.

I thought their record was 9-21....but it doesn't matter anyways because their "dream" tournament run ends in Brownsville..... :o

Thanks for having some faith in the Tomcats. Dont know what we have to do to get respect on this board. Four losses this year. All of them to teams that will be playing tonight. How many teams can say that. Two to Liberty, one to Bolivar and we beat Bolivar and one to a very scrappy Union City team.

Dude, all you have to know is that they are from Memphis.....Some of the worst teams in Memphis would win districts and regions in other parts of the state..Talent everywhere in the Bluff City.... :P

OC,

You must did not attend that thrashing of Obion County in the regional. You saw talent then too didnt you. Memphis is not the only place with top notch talent these days.

Tomcatfan what time do you reccomend showing up for the game, i'm driving from an hour away and i want to be sure i get in the gym. I, as well as you i'm sure, hope Haywood plays much better than they did against Fayette Ware friday night. I hope it's a great game.

Honestly I recommend getting there around 5 or no later than 5:30. The Tomcat faithful will be getting there at that time. Where are you driving from? Yes I hope that they play better than they did Friday. You know it is hard beating a team four times in one season. Get there early if you dont have a ticket. Tickets went on sale this morning at 8:00 and I heard there were lines of people waiting to buy them. Hope you get in because I will definitely be in the place.

Smart man you called it just like it was.

I wish them the best of luck. What a dream season!

We must even wake up from the best dreams. 93-63 sounds like a nightmare to me. Honestly though, what does this say about the level of competition in Memphis now. Memphis is not head and shoulders above the rest of West TN. like they used to be. They beat a number 1 seed, a number 2 seed, and play Mitchell within four points, then they come to our gym and get beat like a drum. This game was over before it started good. The reason Im saying it like this is because some of those guys on that team even had the nerve to be cocky and were lucky just to be still playing.

Mitchell beat Fayette-Ware tonight by a score of 109-53. Didn't you guys just beat them by 2. People can have off games you know.

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
