Shannon the most over-rated in the region.......... Wow nice guess, cause your 100% accurate on that one. The Kid has a bad attitude and losing his brother will hurt cause Jeremy was THE BEST PLAYER in the region last year and probley second best in District. but back to DJ, maybe we'll get to see one of those rim ratteling dunks where he takes 3 steps like he did last year against Cosby. Wartburg will contend but who will step up and be the money player with them losing Shannon and Melton? Should be the most makable or breakable team in the region with the talent, but still the uncertainty of the team.

now im not saying this cause i go to Greenback, but be ready for them to turn heads. The seniors we lost last year held us down if anything. We are a brand new team this year. Im not saying predict us to win Region (although thats a goal of ours) but were gonna actually win some ball games and make the games that are usually one sided into a challenge. We just beat Walker Valley and McMinn Central's JV/part of main roster (which is still great for us or any smaller school in my opinion) and we beat Sweetwater all today in a "play day" type event.

Oliver Springs is really good though. We open our season against them this Tuesday in a Hall of Fame Game and Im hoping to pull the upset and get Greenbacks name heard.

If the scrimmage at South-Doyle was any indication, I wasn't impressed. OS struggled vs. Jellico. I didn't see much other than a scrappy style of play that led me to think they were any better than average. I was expecting to see Danny Schultz light it up against single A competition and didn't.

At South Doyle, OS really struggled shooting the ball even though they got some nice looks inside and out. The kids seemed to play really hard and once the offense starts clicking, they will be ok. They play at Greenback on Tue and home against Pigeon Forge on Thurs.

Keep working hard Cats and put the orange thing in the round thing!!! :thumb:

Might want to bring a white flag with you when you face Pigeon Forge. It could get ugly.

Irish...I noticed PF has lost a few players from last year's team. Who are the guys to watch on Thurs since you guys were the last to play them a year ago in the sectional?

Woodrick and Harper will be their go-to guys in the post. Harper didn't play last year due to a football injury but he's back and is a tough 6'5" post. Woodrick is their best player. He is solid. Schleif is the PG and they have about 5-6 other very solid high school players. THEY WILL GET AFTER YOU!

Good luck to both teams tonight hope OS comes out on top :justwrestle:

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
