This may have been discussed somewhere else, but I haven't seen it. What was that on top of the Jackson County players' heads yesterday? Was it a hair net? Was it glitter? Was it radioactivity? It looked like their hair was on fire on the jumbotron.

we decided that they were probably robots. (laughing)

altho i did wonder if there is some "uniform" rule in that regard. seems like that stuff could fall on the floor.

on the same uniform topic, one girl played a game in white uniform with a black t-shirt underneath. i know that is against the rules. last year we had to scramble and find new underwear for one of our boys in the regional tournament, when an official spotted his black "body armor" under his white shorts... looking up the leg when he was sitting on the bench.

why dont the same uniform rules apply at the state?

the glitter is something they started a few years back.....sometimes they wear silver, then in championship they wear gold, or something like that.....someone from jackson county will have to clarify...

wearing a black shirt under a whie jersey is illegal, but i did not know wearing different colored underwear was illegal

The glitter was started a few years back as good luck from the kindergarden classes @ Gainesboro Elementary and the girls wear it in tournament runs as a way to honor their young fans. Maybe if they had gotten a little in Jim's hair the outcome would have been different

what hair???

I thought it was cocky, too, but I'd never seen them play before. After I read they switched from silver to gold, it seemed really cocky to us, but whatever floats their boat. It wasn't too lucky for them this time.

What about the gold shirt that Reasonover had on? It was for luck because it was picked out by his wife, I am sure she didn't mean to be "cocky" in any way but if something is good enough for one it should be good enough for the other, don't you agree? This year is over, rejoice in it and prepare for next year. don't get me wrong on here and think I don't like the rockets, very happy for my neighbors just wished others could see what you guys accomplished and try to achieve it also.

One of my students had to go to the Emergency Room a few years ago because some of that glitter got in her eye. The girl's game is too physical to allow something like that to be worn while out on the court. TSSAA has banned a lot more things with less harm than that. The girls are there to play ball, not look like Brittney Spears.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
