I believe with identical records, and split with each other, it goes to runs allowed against each other. I could be wrong though.

no the 2 and 3 spots could not be determined without the 4 and 5 spots and the 4 and 5 spots could not be determined without the 2 and 3 spots so in that case they did have to go to runs allowed which in turn MJ was better at.

smyrna over greenwave 8-4

lavergne over h'ville 9-5

Sat.

greenwave plays h'ville at 4 p.m.

lavergne plays beech at 1 p.m.

smyrna plays MJ 7 p.m.

Explain to me why Beech would catch the higher seeded team if things go as seeded. 1 SEED - Beech vs 3 SEED - Hendersonville

2 SEED - Mt Juliet vs 4/5 SEED????? Shouldn't this be reversed?

this tournament has been messed up since they went to the two four team double elimination format. now they have seven teams and their still tryin to do it that way. about as dumb as i have seen

i remember back in the 80's it was single elim all the way thru til finals and they played best of three for the title

has to be a better format than this... and yes the 1/8(bye in this case) should match up with 4 v5 winner 2/7 vs 3/6....

I do not understand a couple of things about the tournament. First of all, I do not know why Hendersonville is the 3 and not the 2 seed. Both MJ and Hville finished with identical records and split with each other. If this is the case, then the 2 seed is determined by their records vs. the other teams from top to bottom. Both split with Beech, so then it should go to the number 4 which is Gallatin. Henderonville swept Gallatin and MJ split with Gallatin. By that, Hville should be 2. Second, why is the 1 seed plying the winner of 3 and 6, instead of 4 and 5. Basically, the one seed is getting a tougher opponent potentially in the second round if things go accordingly. ???????? I mean this district is tough enough, to win it you are going to have to beat good teams anyway. No easy game in this district.

unless they changed how they do things that is how it was done for years... of course look at what they are doing now a 3 team bracket and a 4 team bracker with winners playing - i understand the intention of emulating the state tourney, but w 7 teams it would make much more sense to go back to the old format where 1 gets bye to final four 2 v7, 3 v6, 4v5 - all losers go home and then you play the four team double elim

No the winner of the Smyrna vs La Vergne game goes on to play Gallatin then they play the loser of Beech & Mt Juliet.. what a game it was last night (Smyrna vs. Mt. Juliet) both pitchers pitched an outstanding game Gray just had one mistake with the lead off triple and then balked him in.. after that both pitchers were light out.. Gray topped out at 93 and Cothem topped out at 90 last night

Someone needs to go to "BRACKETOLOGY". That means Smyrna would be playing its 5th game or LaVergne its 6th against the loser of Mt Juliet /Beech (3rd Game). Of corse they would have to get by Gallatin who in essence benefited by losing to Smyrna in Round One. Gallatin received a bye after one win in the loser bracket. So Gallatin will be playing its 3rd game while Smyrna would be playing its 4th if it gets by Lavergne. Would make more sense if LaVergne ewas playing Gallatin. A rule of thumb in "Bracketology" is that a team does not receive a

second bye until the remaining teams have hbeen awarded a bye and 2) you do not penalize a team that won in the initial game (i.e. Smyrna).

Come on 9 AAA you all have a great district BUT WHO DREW UP THIS BRACKET???
