tigerfan74
The scrimmage is supposed to be at 5pm at Catholic on 5/18. There is also a scrimmage with Austin-East on 5/12 (Friday) at Alcoa at 4:30. Several of those returners will probably not be there due if they qualify for state in track, and also those playing soccer will not be there (Thompson, Stultz, Thatcher, Dossett, etc.). Many of the guys play multiple sports.
dsl
It is my understanding that Catholic won 3-2; Harrison Smith didn't play for Catholic and a few Alcoa starters also didn't play (don't have names); The teams look pretty even from what I saw; Catholic had a great running game going and Alcoa had a good mixture of passing and running, with both sides playing good defense. Agree DSL. It was hard to get a read on anything. Alcoa had quite a few starters out, including Sykes. Coach Rankin rotated players constantly. He said he didn't care what the score was, he wanted to see what the "other" players had in them. Lanxter, Hodge, Hicks, Shiverdecker are still with the track team headed to the state. Catholic is a nice team and very well coached. You couldn't take much away from today's practice.
