What was the deal with the OS player taking a swing at the Kingston coach after the game last night? More than that, what parent in their right mind would stand their and allow their child to do that, no matter the reasoning?

Not knowing the whole story its kinda hard to answer your question, but as a parent, sometimes you can't stop the action of your child, even if your standing right next to them. It doesn't mean you agree with their actions, post more information about the situation, before you put a certain spin on it.

Uh yeah, you can stop the action of your child. If my child talked to an adult the way the OS pitcher talked to Kingston's coach last night I would have quickly grabbed her and taken her home before it even got to the part about taking a swing. But thats the problem today, alot of parents let their kids run the show.

To make a long story short, the OS pitcher accussed the Kingston coach of telling the Kingston pitcher to hit her with a pitch. She used several words of profanity, pushed him, then took a swing. The whole time her dad is standing there watching. This all started because the two pitchers were having words and the kingston coach told his pitcher to walk away and go home. This occured long after most everyone had gone home. They were standing around waiting for trouble. Coach Brackett in no way told the pitcher to hit the girl, she hits at least one girl a game on accident. You can't just call outside pitches the entire game. Besides, the next time the Kingston pitcher came to the plate the OS pitcher hit her with a pitch. When I was a child I would have never talked to an adult the way this girl talked to the Kingston coach and my parents sure wouldn't have let act that way. In my opinion Coach Headden, who is aware of the incident but was not there, should discipline her in some way. It reflects poorly on the entire school.

Was this the freshman pitcher I hear so much about?

jacketsfan13 did you witness the altercation first hand? If so, what was the reaction of Coach Brackett and the player's parents? I guess what I am getting at is this, was there any apology/more words exchanged/etc.?

cat,

I'm not trying to put any "spin" on it. Don't know what happened to lead up to the situation, but I can state what I saw.

I was practicing my team on the baseball field. I heard a girl yelling a girls name several times and turned around to see the OS player take a swing at the Kingston coach. The Kingston coach leaned backwards so he wouldn't get hit. He then told the girl to leave or he would call the police. During this whole event, prior to the swing and afterwards, the girls father just stood their.

No it was not the freshman pitcher. Yes I did witness it first hand. There was no apology. No further words other than during the altercation. She may have been saying something as she walked off , i couldn't hear. Coach Brackett was simply trying to stop the two girls from fighting, exchanging words, etc.., when the OS pitcher turned on him. It was all very strange. In all my years around sports I have never seen a player act that way toward another team's coach.

I read a few posts and heard about the problem from last night!! FIST OFF Wo in their right mind would bring this incidentthat had nothing to do with them onto coacht.....only to get stuff started!! Shame on you!! second I have played with both girls and I know the coaches on both teams... There's a long past that goes on between the two teams...but that does not excuse the actions!!THIRD don't start running your mouth about a parents job in raising their kid!! YOu obviously have no idea about this family!! SO the best thing everyone needs to do is KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT AND STOP SPREADING DRAMA AND TROUBLE ALL OVER THE INTERNET!! BE MATURE..THAT JUST SHOWS WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU PEOPLE ARE FOR BASHING EVERYONE ABOUT THE SITUATION WITHOUT KNOWING AL TEH LITTLE PIECES!!! GET A LIFE AND IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO RANT AND RAVE ABOUT GO FIND YOUR OWN DRAMA!!!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
