Was wrong on that one.

If the home plate umpire hadn't choked on his strike zone you wouldn't

have been. Blew a third strike call with two outs that led to the floodgates

opening in the bottom of the sixth. That's softball though, some nights

you get the calls, some nights you don't. Last night we got the calls.

Tonight we didn't.

It was a good game between two good teams that was a battle from the

first pitch to the last. Great atmosphere as well.

Tough loss for the Tigerettes, so tough I think Covington takes them

tomorrow morning & plays Goodpasture for the title tomorrow night.

There honestly isn't a nickel's worth of difference between the top seven

teams in this tourney. So many one run games. It all comes down to who

gets,or makes, their breaks. It's been a really competitive tournament.

Yes, you did. Good post, though. You're EXACTLY right!

Don't think he was makin' excuses. He was makin' a fan's observation. An obvious passionate fan. Nothin' wrong with that!

Daddy always said,

“ . . . umpires might hurt you on a call or two, but they will NEVER beat you . . .”

“ . . . you’ve got to take control and play YOUR game to VICTORY. . .”

:thumb: Your Dad is a smart man.

I'm not trying to sound like a sore loser, but the call when Adrikka O'Neal went for a double, beat the throw and got tagged on her chest but was still called out. If we get this call we probally win because that's a leadoff double and Goodpasture came out fired up after that call. The strike zone went away early because Goodpasture's girls would kick out the batter's box then stand on top of the plate. The ump never gave the inside corner to Paij Lintz after this. Marshall Co. couldn't buy a call, while Goodpasture got every call. Whoever wins the morning game I just hope they can come back and beat Goodpasture twice

Most umpires give a little inside or outside if the pitcher is able to hit their spots. Rarely...do they give both. It shouldn't take more than an inning for a good pitcher and catcher to adjust. The interior line of the batter's box is usually not in play. Most don't even bother to line it. As long as you don't step on the plate (on contact)...and as long as the ump doesn't give a base for a hit batter when they are leaning into the strike zone...it's just part of the game.

The strike zone for Marshall Co. was gettin smaller all night. Goodpasture's kept getting bigger.
