Union City lost alot....and Lake Co. will win the Region......pretty simple

Who will stop the team of Demetrius Bracey, Bret White, Lucas Flood & Mark Evans on Offense & on Defense Lucas Flood, Mark Evans, Bryce Moran, Jordan James.

McKenzie will be good. Carr is a good qb and developing very well.

I agree Carr is developing well, has a line that is both smarter and stronger. Defense is a stronger , deeper, and more well rounded than in the last couple of years . looking for great things out of this team.

Because buddy. I don't know what sport you are watching but in football you really need speed to win. Union City will always have it, Lake County has a lot of it this year, and Mckenzie is like the rest of the schools around here...Too many white boys that aren't very fast. Don't get me wrong I think Mckenzie will eventually win this region in the next three years, but not this year. Not enough speed...OR HORSES how ever you want to say it!!!

I looked at this thread checking on UC, Bruceton, and Lake Co.. All of which Jo Byrns has lost to in the playoffs. Didn't expect this one guys.

How can u say u r pretty sure Union City wont win the region? Union City has a great QB and he can lead the team down the field. The line is a good one and they r pretty big. On Defense UC wont be a cupcake, they have players that will hit u every play. I predict UC to win the region

 

That's fine, just remember that Lake Co. and McKenzie didn't send both their starting lineups down the graduation path last season. They both have some talent still on board and ready to do business this season. UC may win it all but, they have a long way to go to do it. I'm not hatin' on ya'll just reminding you that it ain't gonna be a gimme like last season was!!

duckman, I promise you coaches in 7-1A are not sleeping on Mckenzie or UC. Mckenzie may have lost Hayes but return a lot of starters. UC, is well UC, alot of athletes. Should be an interesting year in 7-A to say the least.

 

I agree with you on the interesting season part for sure. I don't figure any coaches are sleeping on the Rebels either. Some people may be surprised at how well we rebound form losing Hayes though plus now we have invented a running game to go with it. Our defense has stepped up this season so far too!!!

I agree that losing Hayes isnt that much of a step down cuz i went to the huntington jamboree and Carr can chunk the rock pretty good and the line is big BUT union city is union city so i think that people need to stop downgrading them just because they lost so many people to graduation, i think that it will be a dog fight between all three of these teams and whoever wins this region will be representing the west once again in the boro

You could be right about one of these three going to the 'boro this season but, in the west I wouldn't count out Fayette Academy and maybe even JCS again possibly being strong either.

the AP Top 10 Poll is voted on by a bunch of sports writers. i don't think i am going to bank on anything a "journalist" says about sports in any shape form or fashion. in my opinion that poll is just a big farse. jb wasn't even ranked last year and look where they ended up. i can't remember but i don't think uc was ranked either.

I said it last season and I'm sayin' it this season------ "What we say and what the sports writers say doesn't matter one bit. What happens on the field is what matters!" We'll see in the next 10 weeks how it goes!!!

 

Not many people believe that UC is the #4 class A team in the state. Not many believe that Alcoa is the #1 class AA team in the state either!! Remember this. sportswriters projected Tennessee to be a contender for the national title last season too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Want me to go on here!!?? Reality and "rubber on the road" are fixin' to come together this week!!!! We shall see who is standing where in just 10 more weeks.
