rename this the trip down memory lane

lol...That's ok, in 20 + years when you are 40, you'll still be remembering your days in high school and those you ran with and against. You'll have great memories and treasure the chance to catch up with former teammates and competitors alike. It's always interesting to meet guys you ran against so long ago and compare times, accomplishments, etc...

What grade will you be going into this fall? Best of luck to you and your teammates this season.

And I believe the East has the harder courses... Victor Ashe Park. Chickamauga Dam. The 2 hardest courses in TN no matter what those Steeplechasers say.

I agree that Boone's course is the hardest I've run or coached a team on. Unlike at VAP, there's no place to recover at Boone--it's just relentless. At least at Melton Hill Dam you have a long downhill to get your legs back, and at VAP you have the long downhill the beginning of both laps.

The hardest course EVER is the old 3 mile course at Melton Hill Park, home of the Big Nasty. Notice the KIL boys don't run it the old way anymore. :)

I have to agree VAP is very challenging and i've never run the Boone's course but would like to. Also Melton hill park was my first race EVER in cross country and i remember the big nasty or as we call it the " BEAST " very very challenging and a great course!

i still think the way the times are stacking up that steeplechase is getting the better of everyone more so than VAP or Chickamauga Dam. at least we can all agree that there are no challenging courses in the west, though there is a little hint of talent there, MUS is always strong. point remains that middle will always be on top. (it's the water, it's good here)

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
