I'm going with LaVergne, of course. They have had time to gel and if you think LaVergne did pretty good last year off of coming out of a 1-9 season, just wait and see how much more confident and motivated we will be this year. We lost some skilled players. but behind every skilled player spot, there is a player if not AS skilled, better...and I'm not just saying that. Behind Jenkins is Tillery, which will only be a junior. Behind Hicks is Gray, which will ALSO be a junior. Behind Bather is Ryan Williams, umm...which will ALSO be a junior. LaVergne has about 18 or 19 key players coming back. 14 starters are coming back, not to mention, 7 of which are only going to be juniors. I'm almost positive that some people don't believe that but i would be more than happy to name who we have coming back because what i posted was legit. Aw yeh, i forgot, we have the Offensive MVP coming back also :( ..

Just don't get the big-head. Those first 2 or 3 possesions in the DC scrimage weren't so hot...play like you're still the underdog instead. Even if you get way ahead in a game - never let up.

 

(I hear the band will be bigger and better too, even with the loss of Joe Medina and a few other "veterans" LOL)

Just stating why I think LaVergne will be on top, nothing big-headed about it. I can't promise that we will win state. But I can promise that everything we wasn't too good at last year, we are going to work extra hard to improve.

It doesn't matter, the voting process on here is basically what team has the most posters on CoachT..

Hate to break it to you, but Riverdale only has like 5 regular posters these days.......sort of think they are getting votes from other folk b/s their fans. OHS has maybe 3 regular T'ers.....

It doesn't matter, the voting process on here is basically what team has the most posters on CoachT..

While that may be true for some, there is also some of us who do NOT have a dog in the hunt anymore and simply vote for who is truly best.

 

Right now until they are beaten by either LaVergne or Smyrna, R'dale is still the UNDEFEATED Region 4 champs.

 

Do I think they can be beaten? Yes, any team can be beaten, but y'all got to prove it first. Face it there is also the fact that LaVergne and Smyrna beat up on each other before they play anyone else. That in itself gives ALL the other teams in the region a break. If either of LaVergne's or Smyrna's QB goes down with an injury during that game their season is virtually finished. Smyrna has the edge over LaVergne in that catagory as they have a much better running game. I truly hope that NO player gets hurt, but it is football and it happens. Four years ago R'dale lost their premeir RB to a broken leg in the LC game. The only reason they were able to come back is that they had DEPTH. I do not see that yet for either Smyrna or LaVergne. Neither is consistant from week to week either.

 

There are folks who said that Smyrna could not beat R'dale because Coach Rankin had Coach Shads number. I do not think that is the cause. R'dale won because the 'team' was truly intimidating to them (Smyrna) and the staff. LaVergne last year showed they were not intimidated, but they were out played.

 

Does that mean this years results will be the same? I do not know, but thats the way I am voting for now.

I understand where your coming from, I just meant some posters that get on here that havent had 30 posts will just vote for what school they go to, which isn't bad to support your team, but sometimes be realistic ya know? I know the veterans such as you, 2p, wingman, etc. would vote accordingly. But all I'm saying is that this poll is not the proper way to distinguish how everyone thinks the region will go. This year will be exciting.

      Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.

      It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.

      That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.

      Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.

      Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
