GREAT win for the Golden Eagles this past Thursday.

Knocked off the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky 27-14!!

 

EKU was the pre-season pick to win the OVC & of course is a perinnial powerhouse in 1-AA as everyone knows.

 

TTU had 187 yards rushing,Lee Sweeney was 10-15 for 119 yds & 2 TD's.

 

Tech had the #3 Play of the Day on ESPN with Jon Mahan's 84 yard punt!

 

That's more like it!!

Good luck against Murray State

Sorry, yes I was at the EKU game and also last night at the Murray State win. It looks like the offense is starting to gel and the defense is overachieving and doing it well, with some young guys really stepping up. I still contend that Sweeney needs to be in the shotgun 70-80% of the time which will not hurt the running game whatsoever. Murray State came up with some big plays last night on defense or the game would not have been close. Hey, it's tough to win on the road and Tech pulled it out last night for a great win.

Yeah but don't forget the week before Tech beat Eastern Kentucky who at the time was ranked higher than UTM is now...

 

I'll have to say this is the first time in my life I can remember people talkin smack about UT Martin.

They became the Skyhawks???

 

I do remember the year they made it to the playoffs....88 or 89...I believe they were tri-champions of the old Gulf South...They lost to team called Texas A&I if my memory serves me...

 

Murray and Eastern both are AWFUL.....

Yeah,they've only been the "Skyhawks" for 10-12 years or so.Before that they were they "Pacers"...

 

Murray may be AWFUL...about like Austin Peay...

Eastern is NEVER awful...Perennial OVC & 1-AA powerhouse...was ranked 15th in the nation when Tech beat them 2 weeks ago.
