DB vs. Elizabethton

The Cyclones begin with possibly their toughest game of the season. How will this one turn out?

A much better game to watch than last year's contest, but DB takes the W.

I think it will be a good game. It may be a bit of a mess since it is the first game, but I think on paper (which does ot always mean anything) DB wins

The Cyclones will be a much improved football team, but the Indians will take this one. The Tribe will most likley beat all three of its Big 9 opponents (Betsy,South,and Tennessee). Elizabetton will fight hard, and the cyclone QB will make some plays , but they will fall short. Tough way to have to open against the mighty DB. Good luck to both.

The Indians Defense gave up 67 pts total in last year's regular season. 8 of 10 regular season opponents scored 7 or less. That is a stat. Betsy scored 6 pts. The majority of that Defense is back for another go this year. There have been some very strong Defensive Teams for the Dobyns-Bennett Indians down through the years and this years D has the potential of being mentioned with some of the very best.

 

30 Days till Kickoff... looking forward to the 2nd straight meeting with Elizabethton... the all-time 3rd longest rival in DB School History. You have to go back to 2000 for the last visit to J. Fred Johson Stadium by the Cyclones. '94 was the last year in the Annual DB vs. Elizabethton game... that dates back to 1926. This will be only the 4th meeting in the Series since '94... since re-classification to 5A.

Elizabethton may be better than last year, and I gotta believe they will. I know that the 2005 Betsy team was a little down from their norm.

DB will be better for sure... by a long way. If Elizabethton scores, count it as a victory.
