Always a good crowd for the Central game if Central brings more people it would be a great crowd.

The Shopper says it is honoring the '96 state runner-up team before the game. Wonder who all will show up?

It all depends on who was "selected" to receive anything about this. I know of a couple of people that as of this past Friday had not been told or gotten anything in the mail about this. Kinda ironic. But I will be there!!!!!

That is one thing about Halls. They're going to fight and scrap and do their dangdest to win by playing hard til the end. I'm sure Halls will be punting out of bounds this week even if that means giving up a little field position. Although, kicking it out of bounds isn't too hurtful for Halls cause that O'Connor kid can boom it. I saw him at that Carter scrimmage. Seems as if he kicked the ball from the 10 and it got over the Carter kids' head and rolled down inside the 5. May have not been the 10 yard line but he was pretty far back in Halls territory for the ball to get way down inside the 5.

I agree Reese Kelly was one of the bright spots in the running game.

What happend to John Pevy I never saw his name called all night and were did Dayton go after the first quarter? Is he still injured?

Halls will have a very tough game with rivals Central. I think this will be a snoozer in the second half.

Central 42 Halls 13

Hey ZCAR,

Good to see you back on the boards. I'm afraid that you're right about this game not being close. That's a shame- too good of a rivalry not to have a good game to back it up. Oh well, we can still have fun this year bashing all the Powell fans.

Central- 35

Halls- 7

Cleveland,

We don't know each other (I don't think), but I like your bashing attitude.

Just a Central fan who joined last year to talk a little smack before the games. Buddied up with ZCAR last season in setting a few Powell fans straight. Have a lot of respect for the "Battle of Black Oak Ridge"- just wished the game would live up to the hype.

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
