vs centennial they scored on a hail mary with less than a minute to go)

**********************************************************

Obviously you were not at the game.

Or maybe I should have spelling like some of you.

ubveeuslee u wuz nut et da gaym (just kidding)

Because if you were there, you would know a 20 or 30 yard pass to wide open wr is far from being a "hail mary."

Are we supposed to be impressed that Riverdale limped past Siegel, lost the next game, then beat Blackman who hasn't won a game since whenever??

Is THAT supposed to impress anybody??????????

???????????????????????????????????????????

I stand corrected lavergne scored on a wide open pass late in the game to beat a pitiful centennial team other wise they would be 0 and 3

but I am sure they will beat them all next year

same old lavergne

3 games 7 ints

thank god you guys scheduled another cream puff in glencliff or you may not win another game throwing 2 to 3 ints a game.

no ones impressed with riverdale after all compared to lavergne what have they done over the past few yrs :D

Maybe someday your reading comprehension will improve to the point that you could understand the above quote is in reference to the current season.

But I doubt that will happen.

So...what Riverdale did last season counts, what Lavergne did last season doesn't count. And what Riverdale did this season doesn't count and what Lavergne did this season does count?

I just read that Blackman hasn't won a game since 2004 - and the RHS people have the nerve to be getting jiggy over a win against THEM...Glencliff could probably beat Blackman.

Enjoy your win over a team that hasn't won a game in years.

(btw - I saw that Mimms was suspended and didn't play for BHS, making the win even less impressive)

Probably not, but atleast they won 2 of those games, and lost to a solid McCallie team.

I can name 30 things wrong with this team right now. I've already done it. We aren't going to make the playoffs if we keeep playing mentally unstable, lack of confidence, and intensity. I can't remember one time this year that we have had the momentum completely this year. It kills me to see that we are a better skilled team than last year, but not a better team on the field. Somethings gotta give because whatever we are doing right now sure is NOT working.

You could have all the talent in the world and still not win a game.. its how you play as a team.. Like you said... and right now I see a couple players trying to be playmakers and not being team players.. (A-ROD) he has to quit forsing the ball or he will get picked off 90000 times.. LaVergne better step it up it they want to see the feilds in November.. b/c the way they are now they will be in the stands watching..

Lavergne is very much overrated!!! It seems like the qb has got the sophmore jinx, the receivers can't catch on a consistant basis and the defense bends and then breaks in pressure moments. I thing the qb has more int's than td passes and when you are a passing offense that ratio will result in loses. They are not as strong on defense nor is the offense making enough plays for them to be a contender. They better find a way to turn it around FAST!!! or it could be ugly for the Wolverines.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
