TraderB
I have noticed that these 2 teams are undeafeted and i dont know anyhting about them i was hoping that some of their fans can tell us who you have beaten and a little bit about your team thank you I don't know anything about Arlington. The jury is still out on Woodale's true strength, as they have not played any good teams yet. They did make the playoffs last year, and will likely make the playoffs again. The 2 Memphis teams that Woodale beat are flat-out HORRIBLE! That Mississippi team is not too much better.....They'll get their 1st real test, IMO, this Friday vs. Whitehaven. This game will provide the 1st real evidence of Woodale's overall strength. Woodale has a PROVEN and potent offense, led by a prolific QB & D1 WR. Its defense is its biggest question mark! They stunk last year! The jury is still out on its defensive strength, this year. For what it's worth, one of their fans posted that Woodale's defense is "big and fast," this year. Again, we'll get the difinitive answer this Friday nite. Check the scoreboard this Friday nite, for the Whitehaven vs Woodale score: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1) If Woodale loses, you can write 'em off--they're a PRETENDER. 2) If they give up a lot of points (3 TD's or more), write 'em off--they're a PRETENDER. They won't last long enough in the playoffs to ever meet Riverdale! 3) If Woodale can manhandle Whitehaven, then they're a CONTENDER--the real deal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this helps. bg3
Arlington is a relatively new school in Shelby County. They only go to the 11th grade this year. next years seniors will be the first graduating class. Wooddale has not played any top level comp this year. They also have yet to give up over 150 yards. This Weeks match up will be good but if Rod Davis and Jeremy Perry continue how they have been Playing they will be in the winners circle. Perry has almost 1000 yards in 4 games and Davis has 13 TD's in 4 games as well as being a lock down corner. I look forward to the test...maybe then the nay sayers can get on the band wagon. WaCoJaCo
I think Arlington has beat one 1A and two 2A schools. I guess since their a new school their starting out slow. Not a bad plan I guess.

Not a bad plan I guess. Playing 1A and 2A schools aren't bad if you are a 1A or 2A school. What is Arlingtons current enrollment? What is their projected enrollment for 2007? kwc
Current enrollment is a little over 1500. Not sure what the projected is but it will grow. They are a 5A school. I have last Friday's Prep section with me from the Commercial Appeal and I looked under the 'Standings' for region 7-5A and saw Arlington listed at the bottom of the list with an asterik next to their name indicating that they are not eligible for the playoffs. That puts 9 teams into that region. I looked at their schedule and it's obvious that Arlington isn't playing 5A type competition. It really doesn't matter too much who they play this year because none of it counts. That, in itself, may have caused a scheduling problem with other schools for this year though. You may have to settle for playing against whomever would agree to play against you if you are in that situation. Who knows?
alligator_73
Arlington is a new school with no senior class yet. The Arlington head coach decided to not play a 5A schedule this year to allow the team to work up to that level of experience and strength while building the program from scratch. The team is still trying to build but lacks numbers, sophomore class has only 15 players for example. The JV and freshmen teams are playing 5A schools this year. Arlington will play a true 5A varsity schedule next year. They have a very nice school and athletic facitilies and should be a very competitive team in the near future. rhsbooster
I would guess that being in Arlington, they would be getting some players that would have gone to Bolton?Bolton has had some good players in the past.
