1. 1. Ooltewah (7-0) def. Heritage 41-0- Should coast from here on out although at Oak Ridge is never easy and the Admirals would like to pull off the upset this Friday.

2. 2. McCallie (6-1) def. Columbia (SC) 35-6- Basically won like I thought they would, Columbia was a solid team but nothing special, McCallie however..

3. 3. Red Bank (7-0) def. #4 Cleveland 17-0- Red Bank get it's first legitimate win, and it only took 17 points, what a defense. Big game against the darkhorse Eagles in 4-4A Friday.

4. 4. Cleveland (6-1) lost to #3 Red Bank 0-17- Solid effort against the Lions, but missed opportunities killed. Big matchup at #9 Hixson this Friday.

5. 5. McMinn Co. (4-3) def. Soddy Daisy 21-9- Three in a row for the Cherokees, a win at evenly matched William Blount would likely make this a playoff year in Athens.

6. 6. Baylor (5-2) def. Franklin Co. 35-14- Must win for Baylor against the Irish this week.

7. 7. Tyner Academy (5-2) def. #10 Howard 33-8- Well, you could say that Tyner got some small redemption with the win over the team that beat Brainerd; they were impressive.

tie 7. 7. Rhea. Co (5-2) def. Chattanooga Central 28-0- Wow, at #3 Red Bank and at #4 Cleveland coming up; for the time being Rhea Co. is quitely 4-0 in region 4-4A and could 'easily' end up 1st in the region, regardless they are likely in the playoffs with a win over White Co. in week 10.

8. 8. South Pittsburg (7-0) def. Marion Co. 48-0- Just 2 seasons removed from a 3-7 final mark, the Pirates 'should' finish out undefeated and look to make a deep run to December.

9. 9. Hixson (6-1) def. Walker Valley 28-12- This is where Hixson finds out what it is made out of. Are they paper tigers or are they capable of getting a big win? They host #4 Cleveland and later play any-given-Friday Brainerd, then close with #3 Red Bank.

10. 10. Meigs Co. (7-0) def. #10 Polk Co. 21-0- Meigs Co. has impressed me to this point with their consistancy; unfortunately they have dates at Howard and then Sweetwater, both of those games looking very iffy.

Just out: Notre Dame (5-2), Howard (5-2), Polk Co. (5-2)

Big Games this weekend:

#1 Ooltewah vs. Farragut

#2 McCallie vs. #7 Tyner

#3 Red Bank vs. #7 Rhea Co. (battle of the 4-4A undefeateds)

#4 Cleveland @ #9 Hixson

#5 McMinn Co. @ William Blount (most interesting matchup, both teams 4-3)

#6 Baylor vs. Father Ryan

#8 South Pittsburg @ (Finley) Temple (this would get Temple on the map in my mind; if they could pull something off)

#10 Meigs Co. @ Howard

Obviously top to bottom, the best week of high school football this year in Chattanooga, basically every team in the top ten is playing another team in the top ten or with a winning record at the very least. Should be exciting to see who really wants a shot in the playoffs.

McCallie would beat Ooltewah by 2-3 TD's.

And this logic formed from what basis? I think they Ooltewah must have knocked you on your head from the week before.. not saying they (McCallie) couldn't beat Ooltewah but even if so, I highly doubt it would be by 2 or 3 TD's. I think that it would go either way based on both teams have talent at most every position, and great coaching. Add that to performance, McCallie has had stiff comp. but they have also been very blessed at times to have some amazing last minute heroics. Consistancy is a key element in a winning formula and the Owls have yet to lose (I see no reason for them to be #2). The TFP said that Columbia was number one in SC but I know people from that area who would tell you they are not number one in much and though they were undefeated it wasn't against anyone special. Just mentioning that so that you know Columbia were no world-beaters or top-tier team.

I also heard that they were in class AA...... Is that right?

Personally I would put Ooltewah and Red Bank in a tie for first followed by McCallie.

I am a big Ooltewah fan because i went to Ooltewah but i also like Red Bank because i grew up watching them play since i was 5 and i honestly think that Ooltewah would beat Red Bank but i am not to sure about them beating McCallie. McCallie is probably the best team when it comes to coaching, but i think it would be a good game!
