Ever try moving an anvil? It's not big just heavy. Seth, Rino, Murray, Blake, & Jamie...Heavy "D". :thumb:

I think South has done a great job stopping the teams they have played. Saying that I hope they continue to do so in the playoffs. What worries me is their schedule. There are 6 teams in the state of Tennessee playing up from 3A to 4A TSSAA classification and South has 5 of them on their schedule. Eliz., Sull. N, John Count, Greenv., and Unicoi and the fact they played a 2A Happy V and Sull. Cent a 4A is way down this year. Teams like this can play larger schools for a quarter or 2 but the big O-lines wear them down by the 2nd half. Just hope this does not show up in the playoffs. I would like to see them schedule a tough 4A opponent in the place of the 2A game to toughen them up for the playoffs , like DB plays Oak Ridge in regular season yearly. Just my observation.....

Actually I wholeheartedly agree. I begged to replace Happy Valley with Science Hill or someone a little further down I81. And now the rumor mill has it that we will not play DB next year. I fear that to be a terrible mistake.

I think DB has the same problem playing South, Elizabethton, and Tennessee High as South does playing Happy Valley. These games do nothing to prepare you for the playoffs. DB has a very good team this year but they have struggled to beat some good 5A teams. They have not played a tough enough schedule to prepare for "better teams". South has not played a tough enough schedule to prepare them for Morristown West or Maryville. It will show come playoff time for South and DB.

So is that DB's excuse every year for coming up short?

There are no excuses....just haven't got the job done. But neither has many teams and no 4a school but Maryville the last 5 years. That doesn't take anything away from the local programs being successful programs. You guys have not had ANY success to speak of so what is your excuse? When you get bombed week in and week out you can't really come on here mouthing to anyone about Ws...now if they start talking about losing then you can chime in.

By the way...are you actually hess himself?

But this thread is about South....so I'll give it back. By the way, were was it reported that DB/South would not take place?

I think South will be grateful for the Happy Valleys on their schedule next year!! Who will they replace DB with on the schedule if that change comes to pass?

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
