Im saying it now, they wont be as strong. Kiel is great, but I dont see him working miracles.

Kiel is great? Oh my sonny boy and I thought your infatuation with Doug was just a "summer" thing.....Kiel does a respectable job and knows the game but great......no I don't think so. Bob Knight is great. Just thought I would illustrate the difference.

You just need to accept the fact that all good coaches are not in Mississippi or Kentucky. You comparing high coaches to college coaches is ridculous. I could say that Bob Knight is not a great coach, Red Auerbach is. But that too would be comparing apples to oranges.

And, for the record, Coach Keil does an outstanding job.

Do you not have a 'CoachM' down there to spend your time on?

Well if I lived in either of those 2 states I might agree with you......but since I live in TN I can only say that I don't have a clue about what you are saying. Do you babble like this very often. Maybe you have a "summer" thing for Doug as well? By the way Red was a great coach.....he is gone now dumb dumb.

Culleoka seems to be playing/scrimmaging all of 7-aaa this year. Good for them it can only help them down the road. They may even have enough to beat Lebanon, who knows. Hope I'm wrong though. I remember when Slatten was still at Perry Co. he brought his team up to Lebanon for a scrimmage.

Since Slatten is a former coach in 7AAA I would say he is familiar with the other coaches in the district and therefore can get a scrimmage with them. Most scrimmages are set up through friendships, not the thought of a grudge match. It is not a real game, people.

Who is Doug? .. Keil is great at the level he is at. He has done a lot with little bits of talent and gets all of his players to play hard and play an entire game. Winning isnt everything ..

Red is dead!? Heanven's sakes!! Oh my gosh! Dang. I didn't know. Then I guess we must cross him off the list of great coaches!

I'm glad we have Jakeleg, Modicus, Runt, what ever you're calling yourself to set us straight.

Of course we compare coaches at the level he coaches at. And, of course, winning isn't everything. If you have talent, you must be able to get the talent to play at their potential. That takes a great coach. If you don't have talent, you certainly must be a great coach to get the kids to believe in themselves and compete at the best of their ability.

Not totally sure about Eugene. 'Ltown devils' on the 2006-2007 7-AAA thread was talking about Ken Walton aka Eugene. So maybe it is a nickname or his middle name or something??

thats his middle name. ken isnt the only person on the team. lebanon has alot of talent. the have good players down low and up high. o'Keefe mccarver is a g reat athlete. probaly the best shooter on the team. lebanoon's bench will be ready to step and help the team out. i just cant wait to see this game on friday!!!!!

go big blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Blackman handled Culleoka then my assumption is that Culleoka will lose this game. I saw them scrimmage Siegel and they seem to still have the same problems as last season. They have great individual parts but do not put it together to make a great team. Plus, outside of Demario the guard play is very weak. The constant pressure by Lebannon will wear down the guards of Culleoka and when they get the ball out of Demario's hands then Culleoka will turn the ball over a lot.

Lebanon will have a new starting five, which means I really don't know how they will do. One thing I do know, however, they will play 94 feet and they will get after your tail! If you play for Coach Keil, you play with heart.

I guess I get to quote myself. Lebanon played 94 feet and got after Culleoka's tail. They won 62-44 and Culleoka looked totally out of sync. Lebanon jumped up 11-0 and led by that margin pretty much the entire game. Demario Williams went out in late in the 3rd with Culleoka down by 11. I was really looking forward to seeing Williams play but was sorely disappointed. He played out of control the whole night and outside of a couple long 3's, was a nonfactor. Lebanon's Alex Johnson (and others) did a fantastic job of defending him.

Lebanon's defense was absolutely dominating. If they can keep this up, they should be able to play with the big boys in the 7AAA.

Lebanon won this game 62-44. Lebanon started game on 11-0 run and it stayed around 10-12 point game most of the way. Demario Williams went out of the game early in the 3rd with a knee or ankle injury and did not return. He was the best player on the floor but did not seem to do much to get others involved. I think Culleoka will be a very good team in class A. They have good size & great athleticism.

Lebanon looked good at times and struggled at others, which is typical of early season play. It looked like Coach Keil was still trying to play alot of people to find out which players have the best chemistry together They will again rely on pressure D creating turnovers for easy baskets. I feel they have better size than last year with Mccathern, Burger, & Edwards down low. McCarver is solid at the point. I felt like Walton settled for the jump shot way too often tonight, he would have been unstoppable if he would have penetrated on more of those. But you can tell he will be the go-to guy on this team. Johnson & Logue also played pretty well.

This was also a very rough, physical game (another common aspect of Lebanon's style of play). Lebanon has got to hit free throws better or it will cost them a few games this year. They probably left 12-15 points on the floor on missed FT's alone.

Lebanon plays Stone Memorial on Saturday in Pickett County.

    • Think he would be better suited to save our baseball program. We struggle to win 5 games a year but noone wants to talk about that. Could even coach from the fence across the creek should he continue in his extra curricular activities.
    • He probably works at the high school.

Such eloquent and rosy prose, contained here in, is so seldom found amongst the more jocular subset of our species. The brilliant author behind such poetic use of an obviously deep and broad vernacular, reminds me of the other-worldly talents of Oscar Wilde. I humbly thank you, kind sir, for so generously sharing your elegantly loquacious gifts. The Goat sez: You better watch your back, Lord Byron, I’m sure poetry isn’t the only talent and passion that the author shares with Oscar Wilde.
