RARip
Clarksville-Northeast has two tremendous ball players. Point guard Dawn Evans, who is going to be a candidate for miss basketball. Here are the facts: she a great scoer-27.7 ppg; a tremendous passer-8 assists per game; plays great defense - 2.5 steals per game scored 53 points in a game and hit 8 3's and a game (twice). Evans is a very good leader and reads the game exceptionaly well, but most of all Evans is a winner-81 wins in her first 3 seasons and 7 so far this year. Also Ssophmore Kamiko Williams, very talented scorer, 25 ppg. She is tremendous on the boards, 14 rebounds per game. Williams has the total package and plays all facets of the game extremely well 4.5 assists per game. She will undoubtedly have a great career at Clarksville-Northeast. We all have our opinions on what players are good but it is ultimately up to the colleges and universities to decide that. Kamiko Williams has already received an offer from an SEC school as a sophmore, and Dawn Evans has already signed with James Madison of the Colonial Athletic Conference. In case anyone doesn't know it, that conference is the 8th ranked conference in the country. There are 32 Division I conferences overall. There are some great players out there but I have to give my girls some props because the two are at or near the top. I've made many post talking about those two. I'm very impressed with their abilities and intelligence on the court. We were very fortunate to come away with a win against a quality opponent like that. I'm proud of Dawn and her accomplishments this season. I'm happy that Kamiko has received Questionaires from schools already. She can't receive offers as a sophomore only questionaires. I'm sure she is going to find a top notch University with her ability. I've even put a word in from colleges I've talked to in regards to Miko and their team. It's about these kids getting quality programs interested in paying for their education. Edited December 14, 2006 by coachgat

I'm sure you will agree that the offers will ba aplenty. Also, there has been no mention about your team any of these top 20 postings. The record speaks for itself. Millington should definitly be considered.

We have a long way to go before we are where i want us to be. Thanks for considering us though. As long as we are competitive every game, we will be ok. Morton
Okay... I know that I am going to definitely leave players/teams out from East and West TN, but I'm going to go by at I have seen in AAU and HS bball this season: Glory Webb... Incredible (best impact player in the state) Smyrna has a player named Jasmine that is incredible. Wilson Central - I have seen Chelsea Burrough's play with Team Pride and Mt. Juliet...I know that this girl has only improved, and may be overshadowed at WC. Watch her...she is a smart player and probably has as many assists as points. Clarksville HS and Clarksville Northeast - Both Dawn Evans and Valerie Bronson... great players and have already committed to great basketball schools. BA - Victoria Dunlop... great player, but has a strong supporting cast of three point shooters. Siegel - I still think that Morgan Faulkner is one of the best three point players I have ever seen...and she plays incredible defense. This girl is only a junior... Incredible all around athlete and intense player. Mt. Juliet - Lost a lot of players, but Jordan is a SMART post player, has good hands and is very quick for a post player. Summertown - ENTIRE team... they are FAST. Great defense. Jennifer is an impact player. Lipscomb - TEAM, but if Sarah Eatherly and Kara Briley have good games...they win. Hillsboro - The Solomon girls are very tough...gotta play zone against this team. Best player I've seen... Glory Johnson.
aj1133
It absolutely blows my mind that there is not more mention of Mandy Mendenhall. She has offensive skills that are matched only by the likes of Holdsclaw and Catchings. I have never seen a young lady shoot a spinning fall away jump shot with more consistency not to mention her outstanding athletic ability. She is 5'7 and slaps glass on lay-ups and reverse lay-ups. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal but it is not omething that happens often in high school girls basketball. She is averaging 19ppg right now but is playing outstanding all-around basketball. Her on the ball defense, another lost art in high school basketball, is tenacious and has helped prevent teams from being able to run set offenses against Harpeth. Turned her ankle (?) against Greenbrier and didn't miss a beat. One of those gifted players that is too unselfish at times. She's tough, alright. Plays like a guy! (and I don't mean to downplay her ability by saying that )

I agree with this post...a few more to add; Independence- Jenna Bartsokas(Lipscomb bound) and Tori Holleman....both great defensive players. Good to see this team off to a better start this year! Centennial-Annie Kelly-great soft touch on the ball and strong force under the basket...just too many injuries. Anna Fisher, she is the best soccer player in the state but would have been fun to watch if she put all her energy into basketball. Brentwood-Erica Schumacker, deadly shooter if left open. Collinwood-not sure of their names, but they have great guards!

Anne Marie Lanning (Riverdale). A very tough hard nose player that does everything well. On top of that, she is a terrific young lady. I don't really follow Riverdale High School that much but I have seen this young play and had the opportunity to spend some time with she and her family this summer. This young lady is top notch as a player and a person. Edited December 15, 2006 by RARip
