The phase " The touchdown maker" is starting to get old. Florida WR Dallas Baker (" Dallas Baker the touchdown maker!!!!!") has made it famous. I just herd someone on tv say " Tank Baker the touchdown maker".

Dallas Baker is the man. Gator Nation.

What about...

"It is what it is" seems like everyones saying that now.

Yes, that is the most ridiculous phrase people use now. It says nothing at all. It's not even an answer. It's redundant.

A couple years ago all the TV/Radio people had a favorite word they ALL were using, and still use. Every time you listened to a show some player who probably got a degree in Entertainment Center Assembly would use it to sound smart. The word: PLETHORA. I can't use that word now because of them.

It takes one to know one

Some cliches that cause me to shake my head

* "We're gonna play 'em one game at a time." (Not much choice about that, now is there!)

* "They put on their pants one leg at a time, too." (Yeah, but all the muscle and speed they put into them.)

* "If we can keep it close, we have a chance." (Pretty self-evident)

* "This one is going to be decided into the trenches." (Well, not really "trenches," not really even depressions, just that area along the line of scrimmage.)

* The various nicknames for offensive linemen: "hogs," "big uglies," "sweathogs," etc.

* "There's no tomorrow." (If not, why the heck are we sitting at this football game instead of the girls dorm?)

* "You can throw the records out the window."...(But you'll probably have to go out and pick them up, since there's a lot of paper involved.)

* "He doesn't know the meaning of the word "quit"....(or lots of other words either, which is why he is ineligible about half the time.)

* "A (take your choice--baseball, football, basketball, boxing)____ classic..." (An ESPN channel offered "Classic Bowling" the other night.)

* "Their record doesn't reflect how good our opponent really can be" (And neither does anything else.)

* "In spite of their record, our opponents are a dangerous team." (They may injure themselves taking and leaving the field.)

* "We're gonna bow our necks," "put our shoulders to the wheel," "put our nose to the grindstone (Now, try to catch a football in that position.}
