JCM-Hardin County

This is a huge one for both teams! The YANKER feels like JCM is playing better now than we have been in a while. We played pretty well in the second half against a very good HC team and then we looked good against a fairly weak Raleigh Egypt team. The YANKER thinks we have what it takes to beat Hardin County and get in the playoffs but it should be a tough and close game. The playoffs are on the line for both of us. The YANKER is excited!!!!!

Yank, I think this game will be close. Looking at Hardin County`s schedule, it looks like they have been playing some teams pretty tough. Outside of losing to Henry County their other three losses were by a combined 13 points. I talked to Billy Parks and he told me once again that he`s ready to play this Friday and has been practicing. Gavin Hardin should be back and ready for action as well/

Ya'll should know where my loyalty lies, but a win this Friday will be BIG for the Indians, but it doesn't mean much unless the cougars lose to Hardin Co, which you JCM fans are trying hard to prevent. JCM has their fate in their hands more than we do, but they shouldn't take Hardin Co. lightly. I think it's funny that no Henry Co. people have posted on this board. I know their coaches went to Memphis to see East last Friday, maybe they forgot about this game in HC land.

No, haven't forgotten about it. As for me, I have been gone and unable to post for the last few days. I am rooting for JCM to come out with a win. And Henry County is not overlooking the Indians, that is one thing for sure!!!

If JCM will bring their defense to the game this Friday, then they will be able to shut down Hardin County. But it will still be a close game. I am thinking:

JCM 22

HC 10

Henry Co. is not taking NS for granted. Being a former Indian player I was at the game Friday night and talked to McNairl (Henry Co. QB) myself. I still believe that my Indians can take this. They must bring their A game though. They have been so close in every game (except SS) this year. Make us proud Indians!

You guys are giving Hardin County no respect....Munford beats JCM with and then Hardin County loses to Munford...(only on the scoreboard which I know is where it counts) However, if you were there you know the score should have been Hardin Co. 28 and Munford 7. With all the extra chances Hardin County had the ball inside the twenty 5 times and inside the ten 2 times.....If Hardin County plays the same game they played against Munford last week....andl ooking at each game Munford had a lot more trouble with Hardin County than they did JCM.........Hardin County 28 JCM 7

If Hardin County plays the same type of game they did against Munford, then they will lose to JCM. ( If they get in the red zone that many times and don't score doesn't that tell you something?) I said this earlier and I will say it again...Munford will lull you to sleep, hang around till the fourth quarter and then find a way to beat you. Ask all the region 7 teams. They're still scratching their heads!

What a true statement! If Munford is left around to be in the game, then they will beat you! But Hardin County is finding it hard to get in the endzone on mediocre defenses. If JCM comes out with ANY defense, then they should win this game. However, if JCM puts no pressure on their QB and they are allowed to throw to those receivers, then HC will win. But personally, I think that JCM will come with some defense this game. Its all on the line...

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
