Dossman
Heard on the radio this morning that the Cowboys are hoping to get Jeff Fisher if his contract option for next year is not picked up by the Titans. Even at that, the Titans can only extend his contract by one year. I have mixed emotions on this. The Titans stink, but I attribute that more to Floyd Reese's poor drafting and the salary cap mess. If Fisher has the team he can coach, but he doesn't have much to work with right now.

The General
I believe he would do great in Dallas. That would be Super Bowl after Super Bowl. Tennessee would be dumb to let him go. They need to make some changes in the front office, not on the field.
2priceless
Disagree. I think Fisher's friendship with some of the players kept him from making a few sound decisions last season. Look how productive Steve McNair has been at Baltimore. He was pampered and babied in TN. Good grief .........if Fisher had come down on the guy and forced him to practice, let him THINK maybe if he didn't practice, he didn't play....... Grunt
Being a Cowboy fan, I do not want Fisher on our team. Fisher could not find discipline in the dictionary. We have enough discipline problems with TO. Parcells has gotten soft; doesn't say anything to anyone except blow off to the press when they ask a sticky question. Fisher hasn't the backbone to dish out any meaningful discipline. Pacman & TO are pure bred idiots. Can't say it any other way here. Wouldn't surprise me tho, Jerry has made similar decisions before. One more thing, doesn't really belong on this thread, maybe, but add Bobby Knight to the list. He made the news today for another triade he's made infamous! With Jerry Jones it's all about satisfying his ego. If the Cowboys finish the season below his expectations (they're already well on their way), he will go after an elite name. I really think the Titans will exercise their option on Fisher for next year. If they don't get a contract worked out before March, I think Fisher will refuse a Titans offer for 2008 and be a "free agent" coach. I could also see Daniel Snyder going after Fisher. Either way Fisher will come out of this a multi-millionaire (again). Edited November 13, 2006 by Dossman
