Change in region 5AA

One of the problems which was exacerbated by the multiplier rule and the creation of Division II is setting up regions. 1A schools for the most part don't have the problem now. The problem has moved to 2A and 3A where public schools complain that they are stuck in a region with a bunch of private schools or this region has 5 teams and that region has 10 teams. If you look at the regions in 2A and 3A, there is more "gerrymandering" going on than in political redistricting.

Just my two cents.

3-2A has 5 teams because Polk, Tellico Plains and Meigs moved to 3A to avoid playing Boyd-Buchanan, so none of the teams had anything to do with it. Those three are still 2A enrollment, no wonder they're not advancing past the first round but it was their choice. Cannon would be a good opponent for Sequatchie, I think there was talk of playing non-region anyway, but it would be a lot of travel on Cannon's part.

That's stupid to send ERob, GCS, and DCA to play on the plateu. Why not send ERob to 4AA (giving it 7 teams). Send Harpeth and Hickman to 6AA with Stewart, Houston, Waverly, Camden (6 teams) and maybe add in Huntingdon. Form a new region 9AA with Fairview, E. Hickman, Decatur, Adamsville, Lewis, Richland, Loretto. That would leave FRA, GPS, EzH, DCA, CPA to stomp each other and not hurt the feelings of the public schools.

Well, the Board of Control basically took my suggestion, except for poor East Rob, who got robbed! :o
