While looking at the Williamson A.M.'s All-Area team I noticed that it said it used the regular season stats.

Thus take away Darnell's 14 catch 150+ yard Sonic Bowl game where does that put him?

Campbell didn't have a lot of oppurtunities during season, but who is a better talent at WR?

If you went by talent alone, Centennial would be in the playoffs..so that's a bit of flawed logic.

Well according to the stats, if you take away that game Darnell only has like 4 more catches than Campbell and about 40 or so more yards on a team that threw the ball way more times.

So who is truely the better reciever? Do you possibly think that Darnell has the same season or better than Campbell if he was on Franklin?

Wow! From a Centennial standpoint, how in the world did Drew Kelly get there???? I'm not disrespecting him or anything, but he had no where near the season needed for an all-region spot. Allante (w/7 inerceptions) definitely should have been there instead. I'm glad T-Hogan made it though. He is probably the most deserving Centennial player.

Just wondering if anyone knows the methodology/logic that might be taken into account durng the balloting. Note the final district rankings:

Franklin 6 - 1

Dickson Co. 6 - 1

Brentwood 5 - 2

Ravenwood 4 - 3

Independence 4 - 3

Northeast 1 - 6

Columbia 1 - 6

Centennial 1 - 6

Unofficial standings as of Sunday December 3, 2006, 1:38 AM, sorted by conference winning percentage, overall winning percentage.

Now compare the final rankings to the number of all region player from each team:

Franklin 7

Dickson Co. 6

Brentwood 5

Ravenwood 5

Independence 4

Northeast 3

Columbia 3

Centennial 2

It makes sense that the stronger teams in the district would have more all region talent than the teams with poorer records. But comparing the rankings to final tally of players sure makes this year's team look like there is a direct correlation.

Thoughts? If you were voting, would you start by framing a blank scorecard with this in mind?

I would just go by who had the better individual year. This is an individual award, so the individual performance should be the only thing that matters.

just to let you guys know-all region is directly related to how well the team did in the region-the team who won the region gets the most votes as to who should be on the team-and the team with the worst record gets the leat amount of votes-also, if a coach gets beat by a team, he will usually throw a couple votes to players they have, because they obviously had something going for them-but i do know for a fact that the votes are directly related to you region ranking
