Want to continue to doubt the selection of Becker as the all-region QB?

13-19 for 311 yards, 4 TD and no INT in a quarterfinal game on the road.

Also carried the ball 18 times for 58 yards.

Road playoff victories at Gallatin, Antioch, and HL--successfully running the 5-5A gauntlet.

In the Antioch game, he took the team down the field and scored the winning TD with around 3 mins. to play.

I stick with my choice of Becker. Even if he missed two games.

I have a feeling Cordell will get the award, especially because of his gawdy numbers...but I don't think he deserves it over Becker. Just my input.

This is the best list I've seen so far...nice research

Ok but to not have Adam Presley, OLB for Ravenwood on there, starter since a sophmore, having a great year, but you have Issac Baugh in there for both WR and Db. Ok personally i thought he was the most overratted receiver i have seen all year, but then again they had not too good of a night when they player us. :thumb: So, ok ill give him at least one, WR, but you cannot give him both DB and WR. All him and Darneel did as corners was line up and run with the guy you are covering. Purley offensive player. Him and Darnell may have the stats to be on there, but trust me there are better receviers. But again i only saw one game so i may be completly wrong.

If we were going by skill level, half of the Centennial team would be on that list.

Donathan,

I think the coaches will look at the overall improvement of the teams. Cordell sort of stood out to the county (not necessarily Indy) as the savior of the program. I think Becker is a great QB, just look at him in the playoffs. But he is still in the shadow of TC Jennings in the eyes of the county and until he has a kind of season TCJ had, he will continue to be so. I think Cordell just stands out more.

If you put some of our players on other teams, they would be thriving. Put Scales or Barlar behind bigger, better offensive lines and they will make magic happen. Put Barlow on a more passed-balanced team and he will set recieving records. I've been through this before, we have the talent, our coach just never figured out how to put it together.

Or if you prefer another example, look at Todd Campbell. A quality-UT Bound reciever who had a mediocre year based on other circumstances.

Baugh is a better DB than WR because his hands aren't incredibly strong.

Presley had 7 catches for 108 yards the whole year. I don't think stats are a huge deal, but when you're getting less than 1 catch a game, that doesn't cut it for all-region WR and I think he could've made 1st team linebacker but the region has some great LB.

I considered putting Veres above Baugh because I think Veres played much better this season and actually had as many TD catches and made several spectacular catches...much like an Anthony Gonzalez.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
