Mr. Postman1
Westmoreland High School senior class of 1996 went 3-7 their freshman year (92 football season) with many of them starting as freshman. Then in the season of 93 they went 10-0 in regular season beating Trousdale, the eventual 1a state champs 28-7 and loosing to the eventual 2a state champs sweetwater in OT 21-14. Their 94 season record was 10-2 only losses were to the 3a runners up Portland by 5 points and Sweetwater again in the second round of the playoffs. The 95 season started with a win over the eventual 2a state champions Goodpasture. This was the 3rd time in a row and final time WHS has beaten Goodpasture. The teams record that year was 11-2. The only losses were to Portland who had their first undefeated regular season, and eventually made it to the semis in 3a, and to Meigs Co who went to the 2a championship and was beaten by Goodpasture. Other acheivements include a 2-time Mr. Football running back(Clint Brown) 94,95 and Lineman Mr. Football (Cory Dobbs)95. They had more overall wins than anyone in school history, record was 34-12. All the #s of the seniors were retired for one year, Clint Brown's # was retired for good. Proudest accomplishments were 3 straight wins over Trousdale and Goodpasture and a 35-0 spanking of the Portland Panthers! Not to mention the 3 years without a loss, or even a close game in Region play.
nohope
Marion County High School seniors from 1992 - 1995 won 56 games and lost 1. During that time they won the 1992 "AA" state championship, 1994 and 1995 "AAA" state championship. All three seasons going 15-0. There only loss coming at Kingston in 1993 in the quarterfinals. Well worth repeating.
