I have been a long time supporter of Sequoyah, but because of health and work I have not been able to attend the games as much. Just from reading these posts it looks as if some people have the right frame of mind in helping the program succeed. It also seems there is a lot of interest in this job. As a supporter of Sequoyah I thank all of you for your support and your interest. May the right man be found, and whoever it is, good luck.

red chief, how are things going with hc search. i can tell you that rathbone would be a good one. he played high school ball for me when he was in high school and had a great career at carson newman. if you need a recommendation just let me know.

thanks gonehome, it is my understanding he has been contacted, I passed the number I was given along, but I will confirm.

the response to the search has been excellent, proven quality men. on paper there are three or four that really jump out at you with proven track records, that appear to be good fits for us and them. I would love to give some names and you would immediatly agree but that would not be the thing to do at this time. Needless to say for me I feel Santa has already been to my house. I just couldnt be more pleased. B)

I'm not going to burst your bubble but I'll bet some of those 'big names' are just using your school to get a pay raise out of the boosters at their own schools. Unless your boosters are willing to double or triple the money the county offers head coaches, you won't find too many big names taking a pay cut to come to Monroe County. Men are in this profession to earn a living and you know the saying "money talks and BS walks." I hope you guys do find a top notch coach with the experience to do it right but the odds are against you. My guess is the first one or two men who you offer the position to will turn it down then you will settle on some up and coming coach who is an assistant near by.

There are no bubblies to bust. If you have watched Sequoyah as i have for the past 6yrs. You would know we understand what settleing will bring. Alot of people at and around Sequoyah are willing to do what it takes to get the right coach and not settle for who is willing

Would you like to put your money where your mouth is? I'll just take that bet. You are where? wilson county, and you would know the situation here? how? You had a negative post earlier. I responed to it as well. I don't know maybe somebody pees in your oatmeal everyday. You should learn how to use quotation marks. I never said "big names" I said quality men. some names most would recognize. You are entitled to your opinion. The booster club is ready. the town is ready and the administration is ready. Those two or three I mentioned may not pan out but in two of those cases it want be from the scenario that you portray I can guarante that .

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
