Reaching state semi finals is a good goal, but when you get embarrassed by Maryville does it really matter

East has not reached the semifinals nor have they been "embarrassed" by Maryville. Until either happens, I think we should use the wait and see approach. What should everybody in the state do? Not even play because of Maryville? To answer your question, it does matter.

DZ does it really matter? Of course it matters it means MoWest made it farther then all but 3 other schools in the state 4A. That is an accomplishment. Yes we were embarassed by Maryville (the way we played had alot to do with that) but how many teams have not been embarrased by Maryville? Only those that haven't played them. I am not sure which school you pull for but if it's Maryville congratulations (though normally Maryville fans have more class) if it's someone else you were either embarassed by them also or didn't deserve the oppurtunity to play them. Like everyone else we are trying to reach the same level as Maryville, our goal every year is to win the 4A state. Regardless, we are still very proud of our Trojan players and staff for the dedication, effort, & hard work they expend every year.

There's a time-saving idea :thumb: History teaches us that other Region 4A teams would be better off.

Especially East, they haven't even been able to be a terrible Jefferson County team the past two seasons. Just because the 'Canes play in a super weak conference and are promised 5-6 conference wins a season, doesnt mean they should start puttin their heads up in the "Maryville" clouds. Daddy Quarles smack you back down to earth.

Well, we have a new coach and alot of talent coming into the system and they are working very hard this offseason. I respect others opinions and yes Maryville is the top dog and they are whom everyone is striving to be. It might help to be more respectful when you post on here, it makes your opinions at least appear to be more valid.

No, no I'm certain that Hatcher's been there a year. That's not new. It's a dream job though. Lot of talent and potential and a cupcake schedule. That's a solid recipe for success.

No one has been good enought to beat Maryville in 4a for the last few years.

( I think Morristown West is the only team to do it.) Morristown East fans are finally happy that they have a coach that compairs too Don Woods. Next couple

of years Morristown East will have the talent to push the Maryville or Morristown

West in 4a football. We still may lose to them, but atlease we are getting the

chance to play them deep in the playoff. Morristown East would like the chances

that Morristown West has had against Maryville. We could lose 9 game out of

10,the score could be 100 point too nothing, but their is always a chance to win.

We all know that the road goes threw Morristown West than Maryville if you want

too win a state championship. We need to beat Morristown West before we can

worry about maryville.

Playoff is what matters, who you lose too or win in the reg season will not

help you in the playoff.

I don't think that Morristown East could beat Maryville that 1 time out of 10. Although I do think they are going to be even better next year, they just don't have the depth that those in the 3rd and 4th rounds have every year. I will have to say I was glad to see them get that far last year, but they play in a very weak 4A conference. If you were to put them into the region 3-4A they would be fighting for a 5th place spot. Not to say they will not be better next year. They had many young kids that started across the board this past year, and experience is a big step. Good luck to the Canes.

Next years Juniors and sophomores will be solid. Terrell should have a big year and yes, you are right. Right now, East probably could not beat MV 1 out of 10 but 2-3 years from now, who knows.
