Region 8- Hendersonville beat Wilson Central already without Surgio.

The Commandos are undefeated in the region and will face Springfield on Jan 11 to decide the regular season championship unless we loose to Leverne or Frindship.

I see Springfield in a close one this year, unless H-ville comes out with some serious focus and everyone's healthy.... Then it could go either way. They both seem quite young and esp. H-ville with a loaded and experienced Middle School team coming up.

RegionX,

I think ut18vols just answered you questions. This is how it has been for a while now. If you are wondering about the teams people are just speculating. It's fun try it.

I think that Walker Valley is going to win Bradley's region. See it's fun.

Double post due to dumb operator not redundancy.

I understand speculation

Question is where is this official seeding process for state duals as opposed to the make believe blind draw?

It has been done that way for a couple of years except in 2003. Soddy and Bradley always think they get the shaft but it was Clarksville who got shafted by the unseeding of the tournament. CHS and Bradley should have been the final that year.

When it comes to the TSSAA who knows what they will do.

We'll be on opposite sides this year. The top 4 teams are seeded based on the prior year. We'll be the 1 seed. Clarksville and Soddy will be 2 and 3. Ooltewah finished 4th last year but I don't know if the seeding rules say the team has to simply return to the State Duals to get the seed OR has to win the Region to get the seed.

Go back and check, Collierville finish 4th last year.

Don't worry C'ville Dad, TSSAA will try out the "blind draw" again and place the Region X winner against the defending state champs (Bradley) :o

Don't know much about the rest of the state, but I would go with Houston and Cordova from Region X. Unfortunaletly I'm not looking forward to the duals because I think it will be a blowout by the teams from the east. The talent in the west is too spread out and there are holes in the line-ups that I have not seen filled, like the 103 spot at Houston. A team needs solid wrestlers throughout the line-up to be competitive and I don't think a memphis team has that this year.

Good luck to everyone and Memphis wrestling forever

Once again, is there an official seeding process that is published for all to see or is there a blind draw, or is there really an unofficial behind closed doors seeding?

It would be uncharacteristically coincidental and statistically impossible for the 2006 seedings to have come out the way they did if they were all blind draws. You can easily tell that there is some seeding, because Bradley and Soddy have never met in the first round. The 2005 tournament came out 1st Franklin, 2nd Bradley, 3rd Soddy, and 4th Clarksville. Now go look at the 2006 bracket, the seeds went 1st Franklin, 2nd Bradley, 3rd Soddy, and 4th Clarksville. Nobody got the shaft, that's just how the seeding has to work.

I'd put money on the seeding for the 2007 duals coming out 1st Bradley, 2nd Clarksville, 3rd Soddy, and 4th Collierville (assuming these teams are represented).

:thumb: I think we've all felt the shaft at one time or another.

The TSSAA feels they are doing things right when they provide a means to determine a Champion. They forget the difference between 2nd and 3rd makes a big difference to the member schools involved.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
