I attend all of the Livingston home games and their student section can get pretty loud when they need to. They have class and don't show any disrespect, if they do, an administrator quickly takes care of the problem.

Which is more than I can say for Upperman. The Upperman kids and fans are very rude and disrespectful. There was nearly two fights at one of their games.

You can have a good crowd and show some class and not your @ss.

When I went to Livingston that was the quitest gym I've ever been to. I stil think its Cannon's or Dekalb's but I could be wrong.

come one now wildcat6. You wrote on another thread bad things about LA and their coach. Had you won LA might have been classier, right? Maybe the reason it was so quiet is that it wasn't close.

Upperman rocks hardcore.

We may be rude, we may be hurtful. But all things considered, are any college student sections any different? Upperman cares enough about their team to chant whatever they can to get some force into their players' game.

And just like a mass of 8 year old children, all the whining and screaming gets us what we want.

One additional comment about the UHS vs. LA incident: that was bluntly insighted by both sides of the argument. The LA students blatently plopped themselves down right beside the Upperman students and were just as obscene and just as loud (for which I commend them).

So if you think we're rude, that's fine. But, I think you would be too if you cared enough to stand up or make a sound.

I don't think student sections at basketball games are generally designed to show 'class' and 'respect.'

They are designed to pump up your team and push down the other team.

Go Bees.

They were silent during the Cannon game I'd have to say, but win your winning by twenty what can you say? I didn't see any school spirit. It's probably a whole different story in a closer game. I agree that it's between Dekalb or Cannon. Throw Upperman in there, too.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
