Z will dominate inside b/c there is NO ONE for lipscomb that can stop him and then when lipscomb adjusts watch for the kickouts to miller and anderson for the three ball...also cpa's quarterback lowry is back from his injury and will be playing so that is a boost for cpa...

My predictions: cpa by 10 in a hostile envirement

Two excellent teams with dreams of State. Looks like CPA might be a year away and Lipscomb has an experienced group of seniors who have played in lots of big games. Add home court and DLHS takes this one in a thriller.

Variable: Has the Hunt kid returned from injury?

Isn't the game AT CPA?

Lipscomb came from behind in the 4th quarter with 2 of CPA's best players sitting with foul trouble, played great defense and took advantage of several CPA mistakes to win 44-38 at CPA in front of a very large crowd and a loud CPA student section.

Lipscomb led most of the 1st half by a couple of points until they hit a big 3 at the end of the half to take a 4 point lead at intermission.

CPA came out quick in the 3rd and quarter, got the lead, and appeared to be on the way to a win, but both Anderson and Z Mason picked up their 4th foul in the 3rd, and had to sit. With another CPA starter not at the game, that left CPA with 2 starters on the floor trying to hold the lead going in to the 4th.

The reserves keep it close, but DL played great defense in the 4th, got a lot of loose balls and hit a big 3 to finally get the lead with about 4 minutes to go. CPA just couldn't make a shot, truned it over a couple of times, and DL hit their free throws at the end to win by 6.

This was a great defensive game by both teams, especially in the 4th by DL. I was really impressed by Slater - he is not only a good scorer, but he really hustles and makes things happen.

The refs took Z Mason out of the game in the 3rd quarter with 2 foul calls on all-ball blocks, but there were bad calls on both sides and DL earned the win with some tough play and hitting 3 big 3's at critical times.

This puts DL in the driver's seat in 9AA with a big win on the road. CPA must hope DL loses to someone else and then they need to beat DL on the road to get back in the title chase. It ain't over yet.

Hats off to DL for a great game....with that said the game had some of the worste officiating that i have ever seen...the refs were very inconsistent and were not ready for the envirement that they were put in, the only thing that the refs were consistent w/ was being inconsistent with both teams....but hats off to DL and cant wait til the rematch...

As the quality and intensity of defense goes up in a HS game, the more obvious the deficiencies of the officiating becomes. A game with low defensive pressure is easy to officiate, and officiate fairly. Unfortunately, it takes great refs to call a tough defensive game, and there aren't many great refs in HS. It was a shame in this game that Z Mason made two great blocks and was called for fouls, which basically changed the game from that point on. Not making excuses for CPA loss as DL is a good team, played really well, and had some bad calls against them as well. But when the best players on one team aren't playing, it takes a lot away from the fun of watching a great game.
