Centennial loses

21 Patrick Byrd G 6-0 160 SR

23 Mark McFarland G-F 5-10 160 SR

30 Jamelle Wray F-C 5-10 160 SR

32 LaMont Harris F-C 6-7 180 SR

This was Centennials year don't look for them to be as strong next year. Harris leaves some big shoes to fill Byrd and McFarland were good roll players.

Franklin - loses all 5 starters but we will just reload and be back on top again next year. Our summer program and our coach will make sure of that.

Hillsboro - Loses all 5 starters but has a good Freshman and sophmore group coming up they will be good next year could challange Franklin.

Brentwood - Loses 3 starters. They have some very good young players Tidwell and the big kid. They could challange Franklin next year.

Indy - Loses all 5 starters we won't hear much from the Indy fans next year. Maybe they should drop basketball and focus on football.

Overton - Loses 3 key players will have a tuff time next year.

Ravenwood - Loses 4 players Thompson will be the hardest one to replace. I look for them improve next year and possibly finish in the top 4 of the district.

I disagree here. The only major loss here is Harris. Wray left the team and while Byrd and McFarland were good role players, they weren't exactly difference players. We'll still have Drew and Allante. Chaz will need to step up, but I can see him develop a little more with each game. Also guys like KeJuan Jones and Preston Stroop will step into larger roles next year. I think it was our youth that carried us this year and think that will carry over to next year as well.

But then again, this is my senior year, so I really don't about next year.

Good points but I still don't see anyone stepping up next year to replace Harris. Allante and Chaz will keep getting better every year but they still will be role players. Byrd and McFarland were solid and both were consistent outside shooters. Don't see anyone filling that role for you guys next year next.

Back to this year ... see you tomorrow night time for another beat down!

Im guessing this should be the top teams

Centennial- Still has Kelly and McLemore

Ravenwood- Has Morris and 4 returning starters

Franklin- Good every Year

Brentwood- Without Price & Harris i can see them doing much

Hillsboro- Good young players

Overton- Will have a lot of seniors

Hillwood- Athletic group of players

Spring Hill (New Team in the district, also possibly Page)

Independence- The new Hillwood of this year

The most important thing: Franklin has "The Coach"

Brentwood will have Tidwell and Tiechman (who has carried them this year) returning. I would say these two will improve going into their 10th and 11th grade seasons respectively. Brentwood also has a pretty good class of freshmen to mix in next year who were well coached under former MTSU men's assistant Tommy Smith this year.

Although they may be more of a factor in '08-'09, I think they will be better than expected in '07-'08.

If Page jumps up to AAA that could be catastrophic for their program.

When you walk into the gym at Franklin and you see those State Championship banners you know you are in the presence of big time high school basketball.

We have won the State in Basketball and Football. Don't think anyone else in 11aaa can make that claim.

Next year will look a lot like the previous years Rebels on top. The rest of the district just plays musical chairs trying to catch up. But you never will!!!!

Franklin does not lose all five starters - Michael Young is just a Sophomore isn't he?

And with the minutes the 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.... get, they come in with incredible experience - which is why Franklin reloads rather than rebuilds!

True but Young has not been the starter all year. Henry started until he was injured.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
