Yeah I've seen them play 5-6 times.

I wish Moore county good luck. Good luck to your daughter's team and Coach Mitchell of Harpeth as well.

There really isnt much I can say about harpeth. In the 4 or so times I've seen them play they do the same stuff.

Full court man, no really offensive sets. Pass and cut mainly.

They have one girl who stands out. It is either 20 or 22, you will be able to tell early. She will be the main ball handler.

Like I said no set stuff like Cheatham, just full court man in all the games I've seen.

Pass the ball around on offense and look of a shot, that's about it.

Just play your normal game and do the little things right.

QUOTE(hooptroop @ Feb 19 2007 - 05:03 PM) 826379651Just heard that Moore County beat Cheatham Co....

bet that was a good game.

Congrats girls!

It was a great game. Cheatam Co. scored the first two of the game but Moore Co. never trailed after that. Moore Co. led by 8 on two seperate occassions but Cheatam Co. always battled back.

Moore County's two post players had 16 points each and Cheatam County had no answer for them.

Great game between two very good teams and a Great win for the Sectional Champion Moore County Raiderettes!

QUOTE(hooptroop @ Feb 16 2007 - 10:21 AM) 826374419We controlled them pretty well the first half...but that inbound play where they lob it to the tall girl? don't know her number...but she probably scored 10 points in the second half on that playat least.

What team are you from?

champion13 has Sycamore ties hooptroop. Sycamore, Cheatham and Harpeth are in-county rivals in the north area. Sycamore plays in the large division and had their hands full with Mt. Juliet. Should have been scouting them..........

That's all right. It's all fair this time of year. Harpeth's boys pulled a 1-3-1 out of the closet for New Prospect, but didn't show it to them in district, area or the first 2 games of sectionals. It's like Forrest Gump's mama said, 'you never know what you're gonna get.'

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
