Exciting tournament so far.

Opened up the action with an exciting, close-fought game between Volunteer and Sullivan East, with Volunteer pulling it out.

Game 2 was a rout of David Crockett by Daniel Boone. Complete game for Boone for a change.

Game 3 had Science Hill get off to a big lead early and never look back to oust Volunteer from the tourney.

Game 4 was a close, hard-fought game between Daniel Boone and third seed Dobyns Bennett, a one point game to start the 4th period, when Boone exploded, outscoring D-B 22-3 in the final period to win by 20.

Game 5 was another nip-and-tuck, see-saw affair that saw Sullivan South pull off a three point victory over Sullivan Central.

So it's Tennessee, Science Hill, Sullivan South, and Daniel Boone moving on to the Regionals, with the order to be determined.

Any thoughts?

Boone is very capable of winning this thing.

Finally! Semi-final action from Viking Hall:

In the first game of the day, Sullivan South held on as long as they could, keeping it a tight game until the third period, when Tennessee High started pulling away, and put themselves in the Championship game.

In the second game of the day, it was Daniel Boone ALL OVER Science Hill, with Boone leading by 22 at halftime, then holding on to win by 18 points and setup a championship matchup with Tennessee High. A big win for sure, and one that will let them host a Regional game and avoid Greeneville in the first round, although all four IMAC teams seem to be equally tough.

Tomorrow night's matchups:

Third place game -

Science Hill

vs.

Sullivan South

6:00

Championship game -

Tennessee High

vs.

Daniel Boone

7:45

Congrats to the Lady Blazers. They really have stepped up when it was time to do so. They deserved the win and if they continue to play the same way, there will be the same outcome in the next game, no doubt. They are playing better and harder than anyone right now. Good Luck!
