Jackson Christian pulls off upset of Adamsville

Jackson Christian pulled off the boys shocker of the night by beating Adamsville. The Cardinals had beaten JCS twice during the regular season by double figures.

 

The weird thing is these same two teams will likely meet in the region semifinals for the right to go to the sectional. Adamsville's loss may benefit them in the region by putting them in a weaker bracket.

My guess is Middleton will win their district and Adamsville will have to play Middle College. The Cardinals wanted to avoid playing Middleton in an elimination game and they most likely will not play them until the region finals.

 

How could a Class A team with as much talent as Adamsville lose in the district semifinals? It is not like JCS is a powerhouse team.

Well....Middleton lost the championship to Westside last nite, so if Adamsville wins they play Middleton in the first round at Middleton, Adamsville lost simply because they expected JCS to roll over, JCS wanted it more than Adamsville, the cardinals figured everyone would just crown them when they walked in the door not to mention that Jackson Martin and B knight combined for 3 points

well said!!! The only enthusiasm the cardinals showed all night was after jason foley hit his 5th 3ptr in the first qtr.

 

One thing is for sure....if Adamsville faces Middleton in the first round of regionals, it will be one heck of a battle. I know for a fact(having a lil bro that plays for the cardinals) that it was a feeling after the loss to JCS that none of the cardinals want to have again. It wasnt the fact that they lost necessarily, it is the fact that they didnt play with all of their heart in the game. It wont happen again. The winner of the Adamsville/Middleton game will win the regional championship.

New for this year.....top 2 teams from each district host the first round of regions. After that, it will move to JCS for semi and final games.

I believe the first round of regions are scheduled for Saturday, the 24th....time, I am not sure of.

This de-legitimizes all of District 15. Unless Middleton or Westside are head and shoulders above District 15, then Humboldt, Lake Co., and Union City (whichever two make it) will devour their opponent in the sub-state. I have heard the bragging all year about Adamsville's size and athleticism. I almost lost my lunch when reading the article about the "jam fest" in the latest On the Ball Magazine from Adamsville.
