Farragut has the probly the best in knox county. if you have google earth you can see it on there. compared to the football field and softbal field it is God.of course the football field and softball fields are complete garbage. its still amazing. new this year is turf right behind the plate up against the wall. i dont know why its there but it is. the google earth thing is a lil old. there is also a picture on as my signature. its a great field.

Have been to most of the fields in Knox County (and a few others). Farragut is an excellent field but has a drop off behind the infield that is a little tricky. Rockwood is nice but they have the same dropoff behind the infield too and the dugouts are subpar. South Doyle has a good infield and nice scoreboard but the outfield is like the ocean with all the hills and dropoffs out there. Powell could be better with some work but that infield is a wreck. West is nice but everything is downhill from home plate. Bearden is excellent from what I've seen. Halls is getting better but has issues with the infield and is very crowded around the infield by the fencing. Forget Knox Central, playing at Fountain City is a nightmare for oufielders with their situation about covering ground. Carter is okay but their baselines and outfield is aweful when I last saw it. Gibbs is turning into an excellent field as soon as their grandstand and facilities construction is completed. Fulton play at Christenberry which is okay but the outfield is rough. Have not seen Karns, CAK, or Webb enough to have an opinion.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
